Water- how much you drinking?

I'm making myself drink 4 bottles a day, and while I like water it's tough! I need to check out Powerade 0 to see if there's artificial sweeteners in there just to change it up. Also getting some milk and decaf green team in most days. How are you all getting it in?

Re: Water- how much you drinking?

  • I have a 64oz water bottle that I try to drink every day. Sometimes, I'll eat grapefruit, and when I'm done, I'll squeeze the extra juice into the water bottle. I've also been filling my large wine glasses with 1/4 juice, and 3/4 water, and drink a few of those at night.

I'd say that anything with zero calories (except for water) has artificial sweetners in it.

  • I have one of those large tervis tumblers. It's a pretty big glass, maybe 16-20 ounces?? Only in the last 5 days or so have I been able to drink more than one of those. Water was weirdly enough making me feel sick thinking about drinking it. Normally I love water, especially from our water purifier we have, but it just sounded so gross. I finally started using crystal light for a couple days and then switched to just using lemon or lime juice (from the bottle). I've been able to drink 2-3 of those a day now.

I've also been having a small (6 oz??) glass of milk in the morning. It seems to settle my sick belly the quickest right away but too much makes it worse.

  • Before m/s (which showed up at 6 weeks) I was drinking 8 glasses of water a day as well as a cup of milk. Now I can't stomach that much with the m/s I'm lucky if I get 4-5 glasses of water a day and 1/2 a cup of milk. I just keep telling myself, it will get better!

I was JUST told yesterday that artificial sweeteners are OK. I wouldn't over-do them, just like anyone else, but they're fine in moderation. Keep yourself sane and drink other things like crystal light and stuff.

  • I told my midwife I was drinking 4 - 17oz bottles of water a day (up from my normal 1) and she said "thats not enough- try 6"!

WHAT?!?!?  I already pee 100 times a day!!

     She also suggested vitamin water.

  • I got a 64oz cup, and I drink about 1.5 of those a day.  Before that I would be lucky if I drank 40oz a day.  Then I have an 8oz glass of juice/milk in the morning Then maybe a normal sized glass of water or 2 at night. def had to force myself to drink more than I used to.

  • Wow- 6 water bottles would be impossible!Smile Being queasy already, its so hard to do the 4. I was told to stay away from juices, as I'm prone to weight gain. Im sure the artificial stuff is ok in moderation, Ive just never been a crystal lite fan. I will check into the vitamin water zero or propel.
  • I carry a 32 oz nalgene with me everywhere I go. I try to drink at least 64 oz and after first tri I will step it up to 96 oz. Drinking tons of water also helps maintain the elasticity in your skin. I.e helps prevent stretch marks. I didn't get any the first time and I am prone to them. I really think lots of water helped.

  • I'm usually pretty good about water, but it has been making me super sick! I have gotten about a cup down today, that's more then the past two days put together. My H is freaking out that I'm going to end up in the ER. I have also tried Gatorade and 7up, but I have been so sick that I've thrown everything back up, can't wait to get past this!!

  • I find extremely cold water is easier for me to stomach - 16 oz a day

Non diet ginger ale (found it works better for the m/s than the diet) - maybe 8 to 16 oz a day.

Loving Orange Strawberry Banana juice right now but as pp mentioned, trying not to overdo it because of the sugar and calories - 8 oz a day.

Was liking Apple juice for a while - not so much anymore and I think the sugar was causing some gastrointestinal issues - thank goodness Imodium is safe.

Also, I eat watermelon on a daily basis it seems which I know has a high water content - nicer way to get some liquid! Also, cantaloupe.

Lovin' the fact that artificial sweeteners are OK BUT those of you with migraines should know that sometimes aspartame can make migraines worse so definitely, again as pp mentioned, use in moderation.

Only 32 oz a day? Really? Why am I peeing so much then?! Grrr. My doc said as long as I'm not dehydrated, don't stress too much about it. :-)

  • I drink between 80 oz and 100 oz of water a day plus my morning decaf coffee of 12 oz and glass of milk with dinner of 6 oz.  I am constantly in the bathroom and what's worse is that I constantly feel thirsty no matter how much I drink!

  • I have a 28oz cup that I fill at least 6 times a day :/ ( but I love water) When I was having problems drinking it I would make ice cubes out of crystal light or gatoraid, even juices sometimes and throw a few of those in each time.

I love this idea!  Im working on 50-60 oz a day of water.  Usually I will have a glass or two of juice and I have milk with my cereal every morning.  I try not to put so much pressure on myself.  In my first pregnancy I got so sick of water I would have to choke it down by my 2nd tri.

  • I carry my Nalgene with me everywhere too! I'm trying to get down 2 full ones a day right now, but have been having a hard time since I've been pretty queasy this past week. I also miraculously avoided stretch marks last time, and totally believe the ridiculous amounts of water I drank helped!
