So, while shopping at Target I thought I'd try on a maternity sweater dress as a possible baby shower option. Boy, was that the worst dressing room experience I've ever had! Between the bad fluorescent lighting and seeing myself in the mirrors from all angles - sides of myself I haven't seen in months - that was super scary!
Needless to say, the sweater dress was not flattering at all, and I was too much of a coward to try anything else on after hightailing it out of that dressing room! Can I just wear a moo-moo to my baby shower?! Or maybe just the yoga pants and sweatshirt I live in almost everyday?
On the bright side, I got a Chicco Keyfit 30 travel system on clearance for $200 (original $300) while I was there! The last one in stock!
Re: Well, that was scary...
The target I have been to has really cute maternity clothes but they look so small I didnt dare try them on. I have heard they have some great stuff on clearence right now. I am wearing a sweater and maternity jeans to my shower!
No kidding! Apparently, I have fun house mirrors in my house that make me look smaller than I actually am!
They do have some great stuff on clearance - at least it looks great on the hanger! Lol. Most of what they have is only in XS or XXL, though. At least at the Target I went to. They also have some pretty good deals on baby stuff on clearance, though!
I also have to throw in a Cincinnati comment here. WTF happened on Saturday?!
I squeezed into my jersey for nothing!! (Granted I only wore it to Newport Kroger and was inside the rest of the day). We so did no deserve to play in that game
Who Dey to next season... Again.
I tell my husband that it's a good thing that he is there to tell me that I look super cute pregnant because if he wasn't, I'd just feel like a gross whale!
Also, I have decided that I am not buying any maternity clothes at Target anymore. For some reason, their shirts shrink in length on me worse than I've ever had happen before! I bought a shirt recently and wore it once. It's now too short and showed the top of my maternity jeans when I went to put it on this weekend. And I dry all of my clothes on low heat, so it's not the dryer. I have a shirt from Motherhood that hasn't shrunk up even a little and neither have my Old Navy or Gap ones, but ALL of my Target shirts have. Grrr.....
LOL! I didn't even try to squeeze into any of my cute Bengals shirts... But I did meet some friends out at the bar to watch the game and suffered through watching all my friends drink, while sipping on my N/A beer!
I was surprised we even made it to the playoffs this season, but was expecting a much better fight against Houston! Oh well... At least Pittsburgh got beat yesterday! That was a good consolation. I hate the Steelers!
I was just as happy to see Sh*ttsburgh lose as I would have been to see us win.
We talked about going out to watch the game, but being the losers we are, stayed in b/c we went out Friday. 2 days in a row is a bit much right now! (Pathetic).
It is hard going out in KY too. I still don't have it down, which bars/restaurants allow smoking. I can't stand being in a smoky bar, add pregnancy to that and I flat out refuse!
I like this idea! My other issue is, I can't make it for more than an hour without my maternity belt or I get excruciating back pain. So whatever I wear is going to have to cover it up if I want to feel comfortable and be nice to my guests!
I completely understand. I think that was the first time I've been out to watch a game since the 1st trimester. But I made an exception for the playoffs. I'm pretty sure Newport on the Levee is smoke-free now. I know Brothers and Bar Louie are at least.
I might just be rooting Denver on through the playoffs now! I'm not really a fan of Baltimore either, but definitely don't have the hate for them that I do for "Sh*ttsburgh!"
Me (33). DH (37). DD (2.2012). MCs x4. After 4 years & 7 months, due 4.2018!
SAME HERE! I was just looking this weekend, since if I want to look nice, I have to wear maternity shirts right now and some of the ones friends sent me are too big... Nothing. Even DH was like "Holy crap that stuff sucks." And why do maternity clothes always seem to want to make me flash my non-existent boobs to the world? I can't get maternity stuff that covers my belly without having the boob part be almost down to the belly!
"I was just as happy to see Sh*ttsburgh lose as I would have been to see us win."
Can i ask what the Pittsburgh Hate is about?
What's the Pittsburgh hate about?
The majority of Bengals fans hate Pittsburgh... I can't speak for everyone, but mine roots from the 2005 season, when Cincinnati finally made the playoffs for the first time since 1990. The first game was against Pittsburgh and their defense injured and completely broke our new star quarterback at the time, Carson Palmer, in the first quarter. He was never the same since and Pittsburgh went on to win the Super Bowl that year.
Also, Pittsburgh fans in Cincinnati are very annoying...
