As you might have seen, I had my second/last shower on Saturday. I had been waiting until after that to buy all the essentials since I wasn't sure what we would receive. We did get a bunch, but there were many things we didn't register for (extra sheets, wipes, etc) that we needed to buy.
You can bet your bottom dollar that on Sunday morning we woke up and went to BRU with completion coupon and R Us rewards in hand to get everything else we needed. And thanks to a gift card from my BFF, it only cost us $1.03 out of pocket!
Now I just need the NoseFrida, bottle brush and drying rack and a couple wet bags for daycare and I will be totally ready. YAY!
Anyone else have a productive weekend and finish up big projects?
Re: Huge weight off my shoulders (re: prep work)
I didn't do any prep work this weekend, unless you count taking a few naps
I do need to get more cloth diapers and at least one more wet bag, but I was going to wait until we see how what we have works. I have not washed baby's blankets or towels so I think I'll do that tonight. Honestly, I don't get the urgency to do that since I don't wash our stuff before we use it, but I will get there eventually.
I just couldn't believe you were just now having a shower! I would have been dying of anxiety!
I was! All those great Black Friday and Christmas deals that I didn't buy... just in case someone bought them! It worked out well though
I never wash our stuff before we use them either, but I figured since all the sheets and covers and clothes say "wash before use", I better listen!
$1.03! Sounds like an extreme couponer! That's awesome!
This weekend DH shampooed the carpets in the nursery and our bedroom. Then yesterday his brother came over and helped him assemble the dresser and move the changing table and glider into the nursery as well. I felt a bit like a diva, because I got to instruct them where stuff was going to go and then change my mind and they'd move it somewhere else. The changes were fairly function-based so they were both very obliging to make the switches. I also washed the last load of NB - 3 month sized clothes. All that's left for the nursery is the crib (even though she'll be in a bassinet in our bedroom at first), which DH wants to do all by himself, decor, and just organizing the non-furniture (diapers, clothes, blankets, toys).
DH is so excited to do the crib that he got up at 6:30 this morning after falling asleep around 2am, so he can come home early to put it together (he doesn't have a set work schedule). Which isn't all that early for most people (I used to get up at 5am for my manager position), but it's rare for him to be up before 8am during the week.
Ready, set, GO!
