Looks like I'm gonna be here a while

Went for my weekly appt and had my first internal today.  At 39 weeks and all the contractions I've been having....  NOTHING, still high, not very soft, and no dialation.  I know it could still happen at any time, I just wanted some encouragement that LO was planning on making his apperance before his due date!

    What a bummer :( But you're right- he could come at anytime, even without dilation or thinning!

    With my first at 39 weeks my dr. could barely find my cervix it was so high. and as for opening and softening... nada. 

    fast forward one week  I was 1cm and 80% and sent for an induction (because of amnio fluid issues) and ended up progressing really fast and had a 7 hour total (IV to baby) labor. 

    don't despair!! baby will be here before you know it!!

    Maybe this will help encourage you:

    With DD, I was "high and closed" on Tuesday. She was in my arms Thursday night. :)

    With DS1, I was 3cm for 3 weeks before he was born, and with this DS, I've been 3-4cm for a week now...and nothing.

    Despite the fact that I'm 80% effaced I'm 100% sure that this baby is going to stick around until Feb 2nd, see his shadow and stay in for 6 more weeks.  Such is life. 

     

    ROFL!!!

    I told someone the other day that this LO would stay in there til valentines day if I let her.

    Try not to let it get to you! I know it's disappointing. LO tried to escape at 35 weeks, and now is making no progress whatsoever. I'm wholly expecting a February baby at this point, but anything can happen!
