Does anyone know gender yet?

I've heard that some women find out the gender of their baby as early as 13 weeks. I have a strong feeling that I'm carrying a girl and I want to know if I'm right (husband swears it's a boy.). My next doc visit is Feb 3rd and I'll be 17 weeks by then and I'm seriously considering asking for an ultrasound... Has anyone found out the gender yet?

  • We'll know next week, but that's because we're having a CVS.

  • I had NT screen on Fri and the dr guessed one boy and one girl.  The boy was pretty obvious, but the girl was not being too cooperative, so we'll see!

  • My sister was told 90% boy at 13 weeks and was confirmed at her a/s last week at 20 weeks. So it's definitely possible at 13 weeks, though I think it's easier to tell boy and not girl at that point.

I think you're safe finding out anytime after 16 weeks. By week 16, everything has settled into place. So I say go at 17!

  • At our last ultrasound (12 weeks) the tech said it really looks like a boy but she couldn't be 100% sure. We have another ultrasound Thursday and I'm hoping to find out then.

  • If you have a good picture from your NT scan or ultrasound around 12 weeks you can guess based on the "nub theory". You can google it and get some comparison pictures and more info. Basically, the "nubs" are the same at 12ish weeks, but the boys are >30 degrees and the girls are <30 degrees or level with the spine. Based on this, it looks like we are having a girl, but we will find out for sure at 16 weeks (1/24).

12 weeks is a bit too early for the nub theory. 13 weeks is more accurate. You can get a false girl guess at 12 weeks because the nub often rises later in that week.

Ours was done at 13.5 days, it was the u/s tech that told us it could be possibly determined/guessed at early as 12 weeks. I haven't read a ton about it, but that is how our u/s tech told us she made her guess.

  • We have out NT scan later this afternoon so I am hoping we may be able to find out!!
  • I have my next OB appointment tomorrow and will be able to call and schedual the A/s any time after that. My DH really wants to find out but I want to be team green. Last night we came up with a compromise that we will find out the sex but won't be telling anyone else until after the baby is born. This way I got my element of surprise and he gets to begin his OCD planning. Lol.

  • We had the CVS last Thursday morning so we'll know for sure in a couple of days. At the ultrasound the tech guessed boy based on the genital tubercle angle. We'll know soon enough if she was right!

  • I'm getting an elective u/s on Saturday (I'll be 14.5 weeks) and they're very confident that they can get a certain sex determination. If they can't - our baby has the tendency to sleep through u/s appointments - we get a free redo.

  • I am tempted to do the elective U/S. My OB told me that the techs are 98% accurate. I just don't know if I want to shell out the extra cash just because I'm impatient... But I am TERRIBLE about waiting for things. My husband won't put gifts out until Christmas eve because I will harass him for weeks about opening them!

We're at exactly the same stage. Next appointment is also Feb 3 (17 weeks 1 day). I cannot wait another 4 weeks!!!
