Dh always complains we have no food. And our fridge does always look empty. I do shopping and usually end up with lots of pantry and freezer stuff. And when I meal plan, we end up with even less food since it all has a specific purpose.
Ours:
Whole and skim milk, baby carrots, salad, shredded cheese, eggs, string cheese, lunch meat, bread. Aaaand that's it. We do have apples, bananas, and oranges on the counter. The only leftover in the fridge is pulled pork and one piece of apple pie. But the usuals are in the first sentence, and since most of it goes in the drawers, our fridge does usually look very bare.
What do you guys usually have in the fridge that I didn't list? I need ideas so I can stock up!

Milk for dd, oj, creamer, pickled polish sausage, yogurt, heavy cream, eggs, pickles, sour cream, butter, margarine, hummus, pineapple, grapes, carrots, salad, green beans, peas, onion, lunch meat/cheese, leftovers, all in addition to a door full of condiments
At this moment, I went shopping Friday:
2 milks, Orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, condiments, sliced cheese (provelone and white american), 3 bricks of cheese, lunch meat, pickles, yogurt, butter, margarine, bottled water, cottage cheese, pizza sauce, shredded cheddar and mozzarella, sour cream, salsa, oranges, grapes, eggs, bacon, hotdogs, bagged lettuce, various salad dressings, tomato bruschetta, sparkling water(mix it with juice and the kids think it is soda), and various left overs. We eat all our meals out of our fridge, we rarely eat out.
My DH always says the same thing!
We always have; at least 2 dzn eggs, yogurts (greek 4 me, dannon 4 the kiddos), a buttload of condiments- a gigantic ketchup 4 Justin, pepsi, diet pepsi, OJ, skim milk, tortillas, turkey breast, turkey pepperoni, string cheese, bagels, coffee, creamer, apples, broccoli and sweet potatoes. Since we started juicing and eating healthy last week our fridge is BURSTING with produce, I love it... however I ended up taking 3 trips to the store this week (it takes a ton of veggies to make juice, lol)
Besides condiments:
2% milk, soy milk, coffee creamer, eggs, a bunch of different cheeses, water pitcher, clementines, apples, strawberries, pineapple, pickles, yogurt, leftover baby food that I attempted to give A yesterday, jelly, pudding, baby carrots, escarole, leftover chicken divan.
Along with the other food you mentioned, I try to keep block cheese, tortillas, salsa, grapes, and whatever seasonal fruit is on hand at the grocery store. Also, I like having Triscuits around. They're my absolute favorite cracker, and are filling. I try to prepare the fruit ahead of time (like wash and pick the grapes off the vines and putting them in a container, cutting up a melon into chunks, etc) so that I can grab it when I want it instead of going for something junky.
I saw in a later post that DH is eating a block of cheese pretty quickly. Um, don't mean to sound snooty, but if he's not happy with his weight, maybe he shouldn't be going through it (and pepperoni) in one night?
Oh, I know. And he *knows*, but that along with big quantities of jalepeno cheetos and mt dew are horrible. But there is only so much and so many times I can say something to him about it without being a nag. And he doesn't want to hear it from me since I don't ever diet. It's a vicious cycle - he works out really good and eats really good (but insanely strict that no one can follow for long) and then has some sort of set back (injury, illness, our vaca in Aug is still being blamed for a 20 pound weight gain) and then he stops working out feels depressed and eats a ton of crap.
I know the feeling of not wanting to be a nag. I was hoping that with seeing the changes I've made over the last year, DH would start giving up the crap and do something definite to start losing weight, but so far he hasn't budged. I can pinpoint all of the simple things he could do with just his eating and the pounds would melt off in a heartbeat, but I feel like any comments get me nowhere.
Let's see how I do without looking...
