WI Bumpies I need help...

So I have been MIA for a while and I apologize but life has been crazy and I am never on the pc except for at work and well I have had a trainee for 6 weeks now...

So onto the content of my post for the wife's birthday we have purchsed tickets to the Green Bay playoff game on the 15th....so we are taking a lovely drive out to WI and we want to know where in a two hour vicinity would be a good place to stay on Saturday night? We would be getting in late (like midnightish) so nothing crazy but last time we chose a hotel for a trip we ended up in some kinda scary neighborhood and Ann hardly slept a wink which meant I hardly slept. So any suggestions are welcome....

    No advice on staying, but JEALOUS! J is a HUGE Packers fan. I tried to tell her we should buy raffle tickets to win tickets to the Superbowl in Indy to see the Pack play, but she didn't want to "waste money" because we probably wouldn't win.

    DW would never hesitateon that one! You are a better wifey than me for even suggesting it. Ann has been trying to get the winning bid in on tickets for a week now and she finally managed to do so and for a price that does not make me cringe too much. We are considering it a "joint" early birthday (even though I am pretty sure I never asked for Packers anything...). Now we are just trying to line up the details last minute like: hotle, babysitting, dog sitting lol.

    Uh... definitely not four dogs! :) We do have room for Ky, though. 

     But the dogs combined only weight like 30 lbs!

    But really the ILs are on the way so Ky will be staying there and I think my mom is going to come stay at our house Saturday night and most of Sunday with our friend taking over Sunday afternoon.

    No helpful advice, but I will also register jealousy on behalf of my wife.  :)  (We're not out there anymore, but she lived there through college and every family member in her entire extended family except us lives in WI or the Twin Cities.)  Enjoy the game!

    I gave a shout out to a friend that lives in Green Bay. Here was her response:

    "Hard question since most hotels are probably booked now. Anything off Onieda st is nice and close. Depere & Appleton are Good Cities close by that would have nice options. I highly recommend calling the visitors center. They will know what places still have rooms."

    Thanks! We are thinking about staying like over an hour away so I think we will still have options from what I have seen online. I will look into those cities that you mentioned though!

    The fact that you know someone that lives in Green Bay would make my wife uber jealous ;)

    Sorry to come in late.  Appleton would be a great choice, but those might be filled. Oshkosh, Menasha, Neenah, even Fond du Lac would be other choices.  I am sure hotels here in Madison would have room, but that is a little over 2 hours away.  Let me know if you need more help.
