1st Trimester

Exhausted..

How are you working Mom's-to-be managing?? I'm so tired, I could literally fall asleep at my desk :(

Ugh, and driving to and from work -- torture!! I swear I have to HOLD my eyelids open to keep myself awake.. you'd think I don't sleep at night, when i'm actually getting like 8-9 hours of sleep!!

Sigh..

  • I work from home a few hours a day so it's not been so bad, but I start going to back to grad school full time next week.  Not looking forward to the 40-minute drive to and from campus at all.  Especially with avoiding caffeine.  :(

  • It is so difficult!!! I've been sick too, so that doesn't help. I'm at the beginning of tax season right now working 48-50 hour weeks... I don't even want to think of when I am doing the usual 70 hour week! Hopefully I'll start getting my energy back by then...

    I try to drink ice cold water a lot. It gives me a jolt when I get sleepy. I also sneak in some caffeine sometimes (2-3 days of the week). I've found holding off on the caffeine in the morning, and saving it for early afternoon (when I feel like I'm about to crash) helps. I usually keep it small, no more than 50-75mg (75mg in a tall skinny vanilla latte at starbucks!). Also, if its after 3pm, I stick to the water.

    Hang in there and just daydream of bedtime!

  • I'm a Zumba instructor, and I only teach 3 classes/week, so it's not bad for me. Although I have started having an issue motivating myself to practice now.

    The exhaustion finally hit me last night. I went to bed at 7:30, thinking I'd wake up in about an hour...12 am rolls around, and I finally wake up. Went back to bed an hour later and didn't wake up til nearly 12 today. Yikes!

  • Fatigue was my first pregnancy symptom and it's still going strong.  I struggle to stay awake at my desk (especially after lunch), but I've found that getting up and walking around helps.  I've also been going to bed at like 8:30!

  • My God yes. Also, I sit with a heater cause it's freezing which doubly puts me out!

  • I'm sitting at my desk right now and it's almost unbearable trying to stay awake. I'm trying to snack on some frozen grapes to wake me up a bit and settle my stomach. To make matters worse, I share an office with my boss and I do not want to share the news so early on....ugh!

     If I could crawl into bed right now I would be out like a light! Hang in there ladies!!

  • One more hour.. and then I have to get through the hour and a half commute home.. ughhhh.

     I really didn't feel this exhausted last week.. seems like it's getting worse as I get further along!!  Come on 2nd trimester.. I need that energy again!!

    Oh, not to mention.. I've been getting crazy headaches the past week and a half.. bahhhhh :(
