Post-pregnancy exercise routine question

(This was also posted in my month board. I'm due in June)

For those who have already had babies before and exercise, exercising has always been important to me and I am trying to figure out how I will fit it in after I give birth. My schedule will roughly be: wake up and take care of baby, drop baby off at daycare, go to work from 8am to 4 pm, pick baby up and head home.

When did you moms find it easiest to get a workout in? I have a treadmill and stair climber at home so I won't have to go anywhere but I can't figure out when will be a good time. Should I wake up early and do it or should I wait till baby goes to bed? I'm clearly a FTM...any advice is appreciated.

Re: Post-pregnancy exercise routine question

  • I can't workout before 8a, it just won't happen.  I'd do it when the kiddo goes to bed plus try to go for a walk during your lunch breaks 3 times a week.

  • I have Friday off so I exercise at the gym and take dd with me while ds is at preschool.  On Saturday and Sunday and sneak in a run or 30 day shred routine while dd is napping and DH can help watch ds.  Or sometimes ds does a fitness DVD with me.  I can't workout on the days I work, I leave to early and my the time I get home everyone has to eat and then bedtime rountine.  Good luck, you'll figure it out.
