I'm sorry but I'm not a fan. Kennedy just will never be a girls name to me, or a first name for that matter. I do like plenty of unisex names, or last names as first names, just not this one.

My dds name is Kennedy and I love it. I don't get all into looking up the meaning I names and allowing that to change my mind if I like it or not. She is 5, beautiful and doesn't have a big head. So what of that is what it means. If you like the name use it.
Not sure Iike the mn with it though. I used my fn and moms mn Renee with Kennedy. Her twin sister is Kaydance Elaine. We almost switched the mns to have Kennedy Elaine. (Elaine is also a family name).
If you love it, go for it. I don't HATE Kennedy, but last names as first names are NMS. There are so many FIRST names to choose from- must you choose a LAST name? It's not the worst girl name I've ever heard by any means...just okay.
Kennedy is NMS, but I've heard worse, so I don't mind it. I do not like it with Jaye. I'd prefer it with a clearly feminine mn- Kennedy Elizabeth, Kennedy Jane, etc- so that when looking at the full name written out, it's clear if it is a boy or a girl. I know Kennedy is more common as a girl name these days, but I've heard of it on boys too, and I like to be able to tell if it's a boy or a girl from looking at the name, kwim?
I don't mind Kennedy. It's NMS, but I'm fine with meeting little girls/women with this name. I would prefer Kennedy Jay (without the E - not sure why that's there) unless the Jaye spelling has family significance.
I like Kennedy. Not a huge fan of the combo. Jaye is strange to me. If you really love the name, don't let others frustrate you - this is your daughter. Name meanings are just a sliver of the equation: we all choose a name for a variety of reasons, and for some of us, the traditional meaning has no bearing on the choice.
Does the MN have significance or do you and H just like the sound of it?

Also, I read the name as "Kennedy JAYDE", which I think is prettier than Kennedy Jaye.
What about Jayde/Jade Kennedy?
