I did not use a belly bandit or any other type of support. My recovery went smoothly for the first 10 days until I had a rare complication that caused a uterine artery to rupture. That put me back in the hospital for 4 days and i lost a lot of blood. A week later I am feeling much better. Like I said though, it was a rare complication and the drs aren't entirely sure why it happened so don't be scared. I'm sure your recovery will go smoothly

I didn't use one. My recovery went extremely well, just keep talking your pain medicine and don't just sit or lay down all day. Take it easy but make sure you are up walking around at least a little bit each hour, so that way you don't get stiff and crampy. Good luck feel free to PM if you need any csection momma support!

I didn't wear one either, but I think it would have been nice. The extra skin hanging down for the first couple weeks hurt to me.
But a week after we got home from the hospital my incision opened up and started draining pretty bad. Now, 3 weeks later it is still open and draining. I think I overdid activity and caused it but my doctor said I had a seroma that opened up inside. And apparently it is fairly common.
I didn't wear anything. And I didn't have any extra skin hanging down like a pp. Like a pp said make sure you keep moving around w/o over doing it. It's going to hurt getting up and down. I made the mistake of stopping my ibuprofen too early which caused heavy bleeding. I made sure I always sat with a pillow behind me. It hurts to lean back.

I did as soon as I was able to on the hospital until 7 days after. I saw a noticeable difference in support vs when I didn't have it, which I really liked.
i didnt use one but i second PP about taking meds on time & making sure you're moving. just laying in bed made it so much worse for me & i weened myself off meds early since i am BF as soon as i stopped them i felt like a million bucks...

My OB puts a post op binder on all his c/s patients before they leave the OR. He recommends leaving it on for at least a week.
My recovery has been easy, like the last 2 times. I still get a little sore at night if I really do a lot during the day. I'm still numb right around my incision. But at the same time PP with my other two c/s I was still numb.
I had one on the 26th of December and used a binder for about a week and a half. I loved it! It made the recovery much easier for me and made it so I didn't have to take as many pain meds (I only had to take them the day I got home). As PPs have said, stay up with your activity and it will help quite a bit.
My OB had one one me prior to leaving the operating room. I still wear mine most of the time and I'm 3 weeks post op. Get up and walk around like pp stated it does help recovery. Good luck mama!

I didn't use a belly bandit or any type of support. I had a very easy recovery. I was out and about 2 days after coming home from the hospital. I agree with pp's that say to keep moving and keep up with your pain meds.
The hospital binder was my best friend. I even asked for a spare one to take home with me!
After awhile it did start to hurt my back. And it's not an easy thing to put on yourself. But it's great for holding those battered muscles together.
Other advice...make sure you have some Gas-X in the house. I never knew that when you have surgery like that that air gets in and creates sharp back pains. Gas X helps with it.
