DD loves to sing and dance. In fact, every night before bed, I turn on a CD and we dance for about a half hour. A girl at her daycare is also doing ballet so DD likes to "dance ballet". I have a tutu for her and so she likes to put that on every night and dance around in it.
I looked into ballet classes at the place where the girl at daycare goes but it is $300 for 12 sessions and the parents have to dance with them which means DH would never take her. So, that's a "no" for ballet due to expense and because I'd have to take her every time. I've also looked into other music classes but it's hard since I work during the week.
However, I was thinking that I'd love to get some kid-friendly DVDs with songs and dancing...for example ones where you follow the leader or learn songs that have motions. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Re: DVDs with Singing and Dancing for toddlers?
I'm thinking of signing DD up here: https://wheatonstudioofdance.com/index.html
It's only $186 for three months (12 one-hour sessions - $62/month), starting at 3 years old, and no parental involvement required.
If you're looking for a DVD, how about something like this? Or, this? I like Raffi stuff, but his are only CD's and not dancing DVDs.
There are also some more "lesson-like" DVD's out there... this one for ballet is only $9. Might be worth a try. There are some that have tap and jazz lessons, too.
Thanks so much for the Wheaton rec. I'm going to make a note of that for when she turns 3. That pricing is more within my range and I like that DH or his parents could also potentially take her since it doesn't require parental involvement. Also, thanks for the other links. I'll check them out.
