When is your elementary school having an info session, registration, etc? Did you get forms in the mail?

We already got forms in the mail a couple weeks before Xmas! We go to an information session tomorrow night (1/9), and then I actually go to register my DD on 1/26!

I guess usually they do this in March, but it is early this year. Wondering though what everyone else's experience is.

I saw on our school system website that forms will be available mid-March and registration is April 17. I need to call the school though because I didn't see anything about an info session, open house, etc.

We haven't gotten anything and I'm not really sure how it works here. In past years, I've seen signs on the school advertising the kindergarten roundup, so I've just been keeping my eyes out for that.

Our registration is Wednesday.

Yup.... THIS Wednesday.

I have no clue how people who are doing this for the first time find out about this crazy early registration date.

I registered last fall for my son to start this fall. Our school has a great program that runs mid january through may for the teachers to get to know the kids and their classmates. So ideally they want parents to register by early january. But some people are still unsure if their kid is going to start, so they typically wait till the summer before school to decide and register then. For us, there are notices in the paper, library, word of mouth to learn about this program. While I do not have a child starting this fall (I am redshirting ; ), I will prob register him sometime next fall when I come in to class to help my oldest ; )

The school district web site says that we should expect forms in the mail in mid-January. Open house is Jan 31st. I'm not sure what the actual registration date is.

This! Ours was last week (the first week after break) and the only reason I know is because DS goes to the district PS and I saw it on the school's sign out front. Otherwise, I would assume it was much later. We don't need it this year, but I will have to keep this in mind for next year.

They've already had an open-house for kinder parents in early December and an info night is coming up this week. Forms have to be in by Sunday. Never done this before so not sure what "normal" timing is.

ETA: No WAY would I have expected it this early or known but for several parents in the area with kids there who graciously sent us the info so we knew.

Registrations starts 2nd week in Fall. They don't do their info sessions until Kindercamp in June (a 3 day camp for the kids and a meeting for parents on Day 1)

We are not going next year but I saw in the paper today they are having a district-wide registration this month.

we just got our letter this past week, our meeting/information session for parents is the end of jan. i think we turn stuff in asap after if we want our first choice and then there is a kindergarten day in march or april where we go with the kids so they can explore the room etc a little sad/excited/nervous/happy all at the same time--where did the past 5 years go????
