Everything in moderation. I love pineapple and fresh fruit is part of a healthy diet. If pineapple caused contractions it could be used to induce labor.

I've never heard not to eat pineapple, in fact in one of the articles I read about eating healthier, pineapple was a suggested fruit. I agree with previous poster, keep everything in moderation. I'm sure having some pineapple now and then can't hurt- but eating a whole pineapple everyday might be an issue.
I had a pineapple smoothie for breakfast every morning. It's fine. Like PP said, everything in moderation. You shouldn't be eating pounds and pounds of anything. If you are concerned, discuss this with your doctor.
If you've read conflicting reports about pineapples then I would avoid it during the first trimester. I try to avoid sugar and focus on folic acid so it isn't a problem for me. Folate is essential for the production, repair, and functioning of DNA,
our genetic map and a basic building block of cells. So getting enough
folic acid is particularly important for the rapid cell growth of the
placenta and your developing baby.
You can eat it. I am a food purist while pg, but I eat pineapple. If you ate mass quantities of it, including the entire core, it could cause premature labor later in pg. But the likelihood of someone eating enough to do that AND eating the core seem slim to none.

Smoothies and Food Poisioning
Smoothies
made with unpasteurized juice are dangerous for expectant moms.

It's the unpasturized juice that is risky- not the fruit. LOL.

I would first advise you to talk to your Dr. I AVOID ALL unpasteurized
juice (May be called ?fresh squeezed?
or ?chilled?) I'm allowed to drink Frozen concentrate,
canned juices and refrigerated juices
that are labeled as pasteurized, according to my Dr.
Pregnant women are at increased risk for getting some
food-borne infections because of the hormonal changes that occur
during
pregnancy. While such changes are necessary for survival of the
fetus,
they also suppress the mother?s immune system, thereby
increasing
the chance of infection from certain food-borne pathogens.
Examples of pathogens of special concern to pregnant women are Listeria
monocytogenes, Toxoplasma gondii, Brucella species,
Salmonella species and Campylobacter jejuni. Certain organisms
can cross the placenta and increase the fetus?s risk of becoming
infected. Infection can result in miscarriage, stillbirth, premature labor
or severe complications for the baby. Certain organisms, including Listeria
monocytogenes, Toxoplasma gondii, Salmonella typhi and
Campylobacter jejuni, can have adverse consequences for the fetus
if they cross the placenta. Talk to your Dr if you're not sure.

You clearly missed my point- I was agreeing unpasturized juices are risky so I don't need all the links you provided. I'm aware of that. Whole fruit, however, is safe during pregnancy in case you aren't clear on that.
Pineapples cause uterine contractions which may lead to
miscarriage. I think pregnant women should stay away from this fruit.
Is this for real? How do you live?

Just don't go shoving pineapples up your hooha and you'll be golden.
Seriously lady, back away from Google.
