calling all crazy people studying for a Feb bar exam

I posted a similar plea on the Upstate NY board but it's been a couple days and I have no takers. Like ZERO.  I'm sure most of us 35+ crowd already have our ducks in a line or whatever the saying is, but I'm desperate, so ...

If you're taking a Feb bar exam (in NY or wherever), or if you know someone who is - please help if you can! It's a long time since I graduated law school and took the Florida bar. We moved to NY to be near family, and unfortunately no one around here seems to be in need of a non-practicing attorney with a specialty in financial regulations! So I bit the pickle and I'm taking the NY bar this February.

Anyway, aside from my concern that my elevated stress levels will result in a bipolar baby, I am pretty much on my own for studying because the bar prep classes are evenings only and about an hour's drive each way. Buuuut I work better with a study partner or study group - even an online-only study buddy would work better for me than flying solo. I'm a champion procrastinator.

So if any of you ladies are studying for this godforsaken test, or know someone who is, can you help me out??

    Sorry I can't be of help, but sending you all good bar passing vibes!  I did California a few years ago and yikes!  Are you able to skip the MBE because you are an attorney-taker?

    Thanks for the passing vibes - I need them badly! No chance to skip MBE, unfortunately. I can't even skip the MPRE - NY requires that you retake the ethics portion if your passing grade was over 3 years ago. Tongue Tied

    Berg!  Sorry to hear that.  That is one thing CA is ok about.  Of course it is a two full day exam plus the MBE.  Anyway- I may still have audio lectures from a few years ago on general classes that a friend gave me.   PM if you want them for listening and we can figure out a FTP- these are classes that haven't changed much- property etc. not cal specific.  Darn.  Now I have the singing barbri lady going "it was an easement appurtenant" in my head.  I will never forget that.  Sigh.  Also i have bar flash cards (general subjects).   I never got around to selling anything.  Or returning it to barbri for that matter.

    It takes TWO baby, to MAKE an easement appurtenant!   I LOVED her!  

     OP, good luck with the bar!  The NY MPRE really isn't bad.

    Just make sure you tell the proctor your situation.  They may be more relaxed with the no leaving at room for bathrooms breaks toward the end.  I took it in another state after being a member in MD for a decade when I was pregnant with my first LO - if they had not let me leave in the last 30 min I would have popped!  Good Luck.

    Thanks! That is an excellent tip and something I hadn't even considered. I'm doing barbri (again) online but haven't gotten around to the singing property lady yet ...shoot me now!
