In 9th grade I was a dishwasher at a banquet hall....for 1 day. It sucked so bad. I didn't have a work permit or anything, everyone else was way older and drinking on the job. I was a total goody-two shoes and was horrified!
I hope there are some good stories in this poll!

ALL of my jobs, or just the ones since college? Since college, I have been an archaeologist with the college I graduated from, an environmental technician testing groundwater and gasses at landfills, a technical writer/beta tester for a DoD contractor, and a high school science teacher.
Before college, I worked at the jewelry counter at Kmart, was a hostess at Friendly's, and spent a summer as one of five camp counselors for 56 kids under the age of twelve.
ETA: Environmental technician was by far the worst job I had. It was smelly, I got hit on by guys covered in landfill nastiness all of the time, I worked 14+ hour days with no overtime pay or comp time, it was hard physical labor--lifting generators, air compressors, and heavy buckets of water into and out of pickup trucks, and we got treated like crap. I definitely thought I'd get to use my brain a bit and write reports on what we found, but the reports were so standardized that we basically just plugged in the new numbers and submitted them.
I worked the cash register at a Food stand at the State Fair. Computer lab, mail room & Student Support offices is college. Cleaning offices, direct client support at a youth inpatent substance abuse program.
Family Counselor at an Inpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Porgram. - we had a drummer from an 80's band come through. He was married to a sister of a girl I played softball with in high school. Emergency Needs Counselor with a Community Action Program helping low income family/individuals.
My last job was a Probation Officer. We saw it all. Sex abuse cases were the worse. We wrote the Presentance Investigations on all the Felony cases that went through our county as well as supervising 100+ people. I loved the court scene though.
in no particular order: babysitter, summer camp councelor and program director, retail sales associate (numerous stores over the years), office manager (2 different offices), dental assistant (non-certified), nanny, Dietary Asst and activities coodinator at nursing home, tech support, customer service, teachers aide, waitress for 1 day LOL, receptionist, project coordinator, financial account manager... and Mom!
jeez and i'm not even 30. I feel like that's a lot!

In high school, I worked at a flower shop for 2 years. I loved it. Also in high school, I cleaned this woman's house -- for $3.00 an hour. Granted, it was 1988, but still...they were disgusting. I also babysat her bratty kids and she paid me the same $3.00/hour. I definitely should have held out for more money.
As an adult, the best job that I had was as a paralegal. I loved what I did, but hated the office politics.
Here are my jobs. Blockbuster customer service rep, sales clerk at quilting store, counting/inventorying light poles, wild land firefighter, environmental consultant (watched asbestos removal projects, site assessments, underground storage tank removals), and now tax preparer and mom.
I owned my own specialty gourmet food store when DD was born. I loved it, although it was a lot of work.
Worst job ever? I was an assistant to a husband/wife realtor team. I had a pager and was on call until 10 every night including weekends. I had no life for 2 years. The man was verbally abusive to his wife (and me really). I worked out of their home and had to listen to him call her names all day. Everytime a homocide happens in my city I check for their names. He was the type I can see snapping.
Right now I am an assistant manager at a chocolate store part time and I love it!

The most random job I have had was selling knives one summer when I was in college! Love that Cutco.
I sold Cutco
And I still work here actually.. just not in sales anymore.
It's funny I've been here so long I always forget it is pretty random!
I've actually only ever had two jobs.. the other one was while in high school... I worked at a furniture store and literally I had to count customers who came in the store. Just count them. And tally the totals for each hour.
It. was. a. joke.
But awesome because I always got my homework done and got paid while doing it.

When i was like 8 or 9 I was a cherry picker with my parents in WA there are plenty of orchards so i helped them fill barrels and they would pay me, I was a baby sitter much older of course, I also worked with my sister selling at the fairs, and then at 17 i was a cherry packer , and my last job I worked at a winery and helped fill and clean out the barrels.
I have worked a lot of odd jobs and have always worked.
-From 10-14 I was a mother's helper or babysitting.
-From 14-17 I worked for my neighbor, who was a dog trainer. I helped train the dogs, but also worked in the kennel she ran out of her home. Sometimes it was insanely gross. Cleaning it was absolutely disgusting. She was a nut job and would page me 911 while I was in school. Crazy lady.
-Casheir/Stocker at Harmons
-Worked at a plumbing supply house during the end of high school and during breaks in college (this is where I met DH). Loved this job.
-Assisted a journalist at NJ News
-Bakery
-Office of a headhunter (might have been the worst job ever. The owners were disgusting and farted in the office constantly. The male owner would call you into his office and tell you to look for things and then look at you while you did it. I was out of there after one semester)
-Nanny
- Cashier at Home Depot (nights and weekends to save money for an unpaid internship in child life - actually wasn't a bad job at all)
-Daycare (infant/toddler)
-Child Life Specialist (what I did before having LO's and what I do now part time)

Worked at a gas station (it was fun considering we were immature and 16)
got fired from a daycare center (I was the one that "closed" each night, only 16 years old and was responsible for cleaning as well. Problem was, we had about 6-8 kids left til closing and since I was alone, I was responsible for everything, and I wasn't allowed to stay after hours to clean. SO... when the little baby who was about 8 months old would be screaming for someone to hold him, I would. So, you can imagine the mopping never got done to their standards and after 6 months of telling them I didn't care what the floor loooked like that Sam was screaming til his mom came at 7:00pm and I was going to take care of him instead, they fired me)
Worked at RadioShack, met and married my H
Worked at a group home for intelectually disabled adults... loved it at the time, but looking back woudln't want to do that again. Too many cleaning butts.
Did mental health supports, had 6 individuals with serious mental illnesses in the community who I helped with socialization (eating out, shopping and doctors appointments). Our main goal was to keep them hospitlization free but it was SO easy and fun for the most part.
Now we have 2 clients that live with us, not much work involved at all.
SAHM!! Only thing I've ever wanted to do in my whole life. I do want to go back to work when Hadley is in school, without her here I am sure I'll be bored to the point of wanting to work.
hmmm. lets see. I worked at a vet/kennel grooming animals and picking up poop. I pulled ponies for a summer. Yep around and around and around while little kids were riding them. I worked at Wendy's for 2 days. (clearly not cut out for fast food)
I worked at a daycare, at ARC and AMIB in group homes for ppl with developmental disabilities. I was a dietary aid in a nursing home. CNA, and then became an RN.
I've been an RN since 2002. But only per diem, and plan on SAH for at least a year before I think about going back. Too stressful!
Wrapped presents at Christmas for the make-up/fragrance area of a department store. I got paid to sit there, M-F for 8 hours and make pretty bows. It was fun. I got $8/hr and it was totally worth it in my book, LOL
Go-go dancer. No joke. It's when I was dancing in college and some girl I went to school with was dancing at this club and told me to audition. So I did and did that for about 3 weeks I believe - but I also had 2 other jobs (yes, 3 jobs plus school) and got burnt out, plus they ended up with too many dancers anyway. I danced at a popular dance club downtown WITH my clothes on thankyouverymuch, LOL. We had some crazy outfits though. and go-go boots! woo! The best moment was when some guy offered me $2,000 to go home with him for the night (sarcasm) Pretty much after that incident, any time someone tried to talk to me I pretended I didn't notice them. The money was very good though.
ETA- thought of another. My work-study job one year at school was in the music building. Mainly, I went to all the music recitals, choir concerts, orchestra concerts, operas, ect. and audio recorded the performances. Yes, I got to sit there and watch music performances and hit the *record* button at the beginning and *stop* button at the end. It was great! I also made programs and helped archive everything, but it was a nice job really.

Craziest job: I caught endangered snakes for the USGS...10 hours a day slogging through swamps catching snakes in the california heat. i almost drowned a couple times and some crazy farmer pulled a gun on us.
Most rewarding: I spent 8 years teaching environmental education to school kids on overnight trips. Got my masters and ran a bunch of programs...totally cool!
Worst job: Waitress in a czech restaurant. I had never waitressed and lied to get the job and I got fired 3 days later but i learned how to swear in czech pretty fast
I also lifeguarded, taught swim lessons, tutored a kid with downs syndrome, and ran an outdoor program for troubled youth.

I used to teach theraputic riding to people with disabilites. That was pretty cool. Since college, I've done something in the Rehab field.
While I was in collage, I worked weekends cleaning in a mental hospital. I've seen some pretty crazy stuff!
