1st Trimester

confused?

Hey everyone :)

So today is the first day AF is supposed to be here. I havent gotten my period...yesterday i took a Clear Blue easy digital and it clearly said PREGNANT but...this morning took an EPT and didnt see any line at all?? I'm bummed now...Has that happened to anyone?

even 2 days ago I took a CB easy digital and First response early response and they both were positive...

Are EPT not as sensitive or should I be worried?

Re: confused?

  • I wouldn't be worried.  The EPT one sounds like it is not working, the control lines should have come up, if nothing comes up at all, no control lines, no negative, I would say the test stick test is faulty, expired, not working.  Once you get a BFP, even if it were a chemical pregnancy you would still have the hormones in your urine and would still test positive for a few weeks.  I would get another test, or just go with the two positives you already got and know you are pregnant.  COngrats.

  • It could just be an error, or not enough pee.  I would just try another test.  GL! Geeked

  • The ept control lines were there, just not a positive line.

  • I believe that the EPT is less sensitive. For me when I first found out, all I had was one clear blue easy digital test so I took it and it said pregnant. So I went to the store and I actually also bought the EPT and the line was sooo faint I would have thought it was negative if I had not know better. So then I went back and bought a first response test too lol because I just had to know if I was or not and that one did have a pretty clear line. I believe the EPT is not that sensitive. Have you tried any other brands?  You might also want to go get your blood drawn to be 100% sure. I really hope it turns out well for you!

  • You can google the sensitivities of the different pregnancy tests. They all detect at different levels. With my first pregnancy 5yrs ago (I am on #4 now) I did this and found First Responce was the most sensitive.

  • If I'm remembering this correctly from 3 months ago when I did testing... First Response measures HGC levels at 25+, EPT measures at 50+.  If I'm remembering correctly, it's entirely possible that it's just too early for the EPT to work.  Trust the First Response.  CONGRATS!!!

  • Could be the sensitivity level of the EPT...if your hormone levels aren't high enough, you might not pass a less sensitive test. It should state on the box the sensitivity level of the test. Test again, if you don't pass, wait another week and test again--your hormone levels should be high enough by then.

Chances are, you're fine, and so is your new baby...congrats!

  • You're pregnant. You have two technical repeats for one experiment (2 days ago) and another experiment today. You're fine. Call your doctor for the blood test order and make an appointment for 8-10 weeks, unless they will see you earlier. Congrats.
