We had ours done in the RE's andrology lab. We dropped off the sample at 8am and I had prelimary results by noon.

We did it Fri and had results Mon. However, the lab only does ONE sa per day. Something else.. I had to kick and scream to get the results since we didn't have a HIPAA release on file and my Dr office lady fought me. My Dr gave them to me, but just a word of advice
TTC Babypants with low motility and low morphology since 6/2010.
We did it through Quest Diagnostics and it took them 2 weeks (with my RE calling and pretty much going "where the hell are these results?!") to get them over.
DH went to the clinic and gave his 'sample' there on a Wednesday 4pm and he got called with results Monday at 10am and then results were faxed to us right after phone call. I'm glad he got SA, made us both very happy to know he has a high sperm count, good motility, morphology, etc. He wasn't emberassed or anything, he wanted to know if he was 'normal' or not in that department.
Both times, DH went in on Thursday morning and we had the results Friday afternoon.
me 26 / DH 29
TTC#1 since 5/2010 (charting, AO)
2/2011: DX: PCOS, hypothyroid (1700 mg Metformin, 50 mcg Synthroid)
8/10/2011: First RE appt.
9/2011 & 10/2011: Clomid + Ovidrel + TI = BFN
11/2011: Femara + Ovidrel + TI = BFN
1/2012: Femara + Follistim + Ovidrel + TI = BFP! (Praise the Lord!)
?3/23/2012: Graduated from the RE... moving on to a regular OB!?
?10/29/2012: Our precious baby boy was born via emergency C-section. 5 lbs, 13 oz; 18" long ?
We dropped off mid-morning on a Monday and were called with the results around supper time that day.
You may want to talk with DH about exactly what you would like to know in regards to the results. My DH got off the phone with the MD's office and told me that he had "cobra venom" and that his pH was slightly high. Since I'm pretty sure cobra venom is not the most important component of the SA, I am still wishing that I knew the numbers. Perhaps they can have you sign a release of information while you are there for testing. Otherwise make sure DH knows how to utilize the speaker phone function.
