Back story: our son turns 2 in late January, we had our daughter 3 weeks ago. With my husband's time off, family for the holidays etc we've just started into a routine of me home with both kids alone starting today. There have been several partial days but this is the first full work day.
Anyway, our dog needs walking regularly and my husband didn't have time this morning and gets home at 7pm. Our neighbor needed her lizard fed and her mail collected so I figured we'd multitask. My son has been fighting the stroller lately, and he's a good walker, but when I'm alone I get nervous about the dog going one way and him going another, so I decided to wear both kids.
I put the Moby on with the infant in front and the Ergo with the toddler in back. It was actually relatively comfortable and we had a successful walk/feeding pets.
Some tips for the future: put the Moby on first (which I did) but wait to put the baby in until after the toddler is in. I had to do a little more jiggling to get him settled than I would have preferred with my daughter already on. Also, I couldn't figure out how to position the chest strap with her on my front so I need to do a little more experimenting with that.
Re: My babywearing triumph
Seriously awesome!!! Good job! Would the older child ride in a jogger or stroller?
We have 3 dogs and I wear DS and push DD in BOB. Kuddos for both!!! Yea!!
