Does it only take 1 day to install? We'll have them rip up carpet and install wood all upstairs. It'd be wonderful if it only took 1 day!
it really depends on how much leveling needs to be done and whether you're gluing real wood or floating the floor. We did a lot of area and ours took 3 days- 2 of which was mostly leveling. Our slab was VERY uneven.
We just did some other work on our house by a guy who has done floors and other stuff for some friends. We want to get hardwoods in two rooms and the hallways. He said it would be $840 for labor for 560 square feet to float it. I'm thinking we don't want to glue them down. It's more expensive and the guy said its a nightmare if you want to change it in the future.

we used the people who we bought the floors from - it came out so so nice. they were quick and did a fab job on 1000 square feet! (removing that much tile and putting down hardwood).
we bought the floors and had them installed by floor & decor (it is in north austin - cheaper prices than lumber liquidators!)
