I got my first shot yesterday and BTW it wasn't bad. Anyways, I started getting a headache at about 2:30 about 5 hours after the shot. I didn't think much of it but it got WAY worse. I tried fluids, caffeine, Tylenol, ice pack on the back of my neck, rest and nothing worked. I was up ever hour or two last night because of the pain.
So, my first thought that is was a side effect of the shot? but IDK..anyone else have this happen?
Re: P17 injections and headaches?
Thank you both so very much for your reply. I called the doctor and after talking to her we both believe that this headache has been on going for a while. It is in the same location as every single headache I have been having since I found out I was pregnant. I am prone to migraines so we decided on trying some different medication because the P17 "may" be aggravating and existing condition but it may not and it could just be pregnancy related.
Also, yes I ate, drank a TON of water and tried rest. I hate calling the doctor so that was my last resort.
I went and picked up the new med and 25 minutes after I took it my headache has began to go away. Such relief! Hopefully, this med knocks out the headache and it doesn't return and I won't need any more meds. Thank you both and to the poster who gets headaches after the p17 I hope you feel better soon
Make a pregnancy ticker
Now that you mention it.. I had headaches my first couple weeks with the shots, but never put them together. I just chalk everything "wrong" with me right now to being pregnant. My nose is stuffy.. because I am pregnant. My feet/back/legs hurt, because I am pregnant.. blah blah..
I have noticed that my blood pressure has gone up while on the shot. I know that is a side effect, so we are watching it. My normal blood pressure (pre pregnancy) was 90/60-100/70 (very low) but my numbers have been slowing increasing, and I wonder if that can also be what causes the headaches. I am up to 124/85 last friday. Sigh. Good luck, I hope the headaches go away (and stay away!)
