How old to start teething?

Laci has her screaming fits from time to time and I'm noticing drool which she never right now she is gnawing on her fist but won't take a bottle so she isn't hungry. I thought she was too young to be teething but now I'm second guessing that.

Re: How old to start teething?

  • Most 2 month mom's think their LO is teething (I know I certainly did) because that's when their salivary glands kick in and the drool starts appearing.  It's really rare for a 2-month old to get teeth, but I know it does happen every once in a while.

So - probably not teething, but there's a small chance that it could be!

Ditto this. DD started acting like she was teething around then too. Her first 2 teeth came in at 5 months..I think.

  • Yep, drooling. However, I think Emily cut her first tooth at 4 months and had ALL her teeth, including '2 year molars' shortly after her 1st birthday.

The screaming is probably because her hand won't listen to her sometimes ;)

  • DD started drooling and gnawing on her fist too around your DD's age.  Totally normal behaviour at that age...  I read that chewing on her hand is her way of learning about the world around her?
