Parenting after 35

This post makes me blind with rage

https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/61980411.aspx

The grammar and spelling isn't so bad that it would indicate an IQ low enough that one would think that SN was acceptable, so I call MUD. Even if it's not MUD, grammypreggy?!?! Eff off!!! Like we're freaks of nature or something.

It's bad enough that we had the possible MUD/possible lunatic "I'm 48 and think I'm having twins but all the doctors are wrong about telling me I'm not KU and am menopausal" chick, but now this? What is it? Mock the old ladies week?

Damn pregnancy hormones.

  • Deep breath.  Happy thoughts.  And imagine lazer beams from space cooking her.

  • Wasn't there a country song about somebody being "his own grandpa?"

I think this woman's a brick shy of a full load.

    I JUST used this!

That person's post made my eyes hurt. She's "preggie"? Really? This makes me want to beat someone with my cane.

  • I guess sometimes it really is just a hat rack :)
  • Thanks, ya'll. I'm much calmer now and can admit that I came off as a bit unhinged in the OP, but that screen name, not even the post, made me feel stabby. It's not cute or funny or ironic.

And if that post was not MUD and the poster sees this, I'm sorry.

When I first saw your old lady pic, I didn't think that was the character's KNEES hanging out from under her skirt.  Dirty mind!

  • This actually describes a friend of mine exactly. Except the pg part, although I haven't talked to her in a few years, I think no, she hasn't been with her boyfriend for six years yet and I think she may have had a tubal at some point but she has two daughters, those ages and a granddaughter who is now 6 or 7. Anyway, she would be 43 now almost 44. Kinda weird.

  • Oh by the way, Heather, I just read the posts by the 48 year old. I feel so very sorry for her. I can't imagine being that delusional. At first, I thought it was pure MUD but then I felt sadness for her. Because either MUD or really delusional, she seems like a wreck.

I know, that's why I didn't respond. If it is MUD, which it probably isn't, then it's just not worth it. And if it isn't then it doesn't matter how delicately you put things as she'll take it badly.

    Sad.

over 40 preggie right after D&C

I have had two surprise pregnancies in the past two years while on birth control at 41 and 42,  Daddy 8yrs older.  Both pregnancies ended (10 and 12 weeks), D&C with both.     I've been with my boyfriend for 6yrs and we do not have kids of our own which is not something we even considered until after this last loss.  I have two daughters 25 and 20, and a granddaughter.  He has a preteen daughter. He started late in life and has always wanted another child.  We have decided to go for it and let nature do its thing.  It has been  9wk since my last D&C and I'm already pregnant at least according to a home pregnancy test.  I don't have any desire to go to my doctor at this time, scared to find out bad news again and do not want to go through another D&C. I will probably wait until the end of the month to see doc, so now comes the stress of waiting.  Have any others experienced pregnancy so soon after a loss and played the waiting game?

I don't see a problem with it. She just wants to wait a little before telling the doctor and she's not saying anything bad about AMA. So maybe the link is taking me to a different post? BTW, I understand about the pg hormones, they drive you nuts!

Me: 44 DH: 42. DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09. TTC since then with no luck or ART. Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.

It wasn't the post, it was her screen name. Grammypreggy, and she called her self "preggie" instead of pregnant. The latter isn't such a big deal, but her SN really, really, really rubs me the wrong way.
  • GrammyPeggy? I didn't even notice, that's so lame!!
