Enjoying my inside baby

As I get closer to my due date, I'm thinking a lot about how I'm going to miss being pregnant! Of course nothing will be as wonderful as holding and seeing my little one. I've been lying in bed forever this morning feeling LO kick and squirm. I don't want to get up because it will stop! Pregnancy has it's miseries for sure but I love knowing he's safe inside me:)

Re: Enjoying my inside baby

  • As much as I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore, I do agree that I'm going to miss feeling those little squirms.  I've gotten so used to feeling them that I take it for granted.  I'll have to transition to not expecting them anymore after he's born.

  • I totally understand!  I love watching her move around, and can get sucked into just thinking about her.  Obviously, it's going to be amazing when she gets here, but it's also going to be hectic and nerve-wracking!  I think I'll miss the amazing peace I feel experiencing her without all the worry about feeding, etc. (which I know I'll get the hang of, but right now I'm worried about it).

  • It's true. I remember last time thinking how I would worry about LO and was ready for him to be born so I could hold him and see he was okay. The worrying only intensifies when they're here! I remember looking back and saying, it was so simple when he was still inside and I knew he was okay. :)

I remember having phantom kicks months afterwards...weirdest thing!

  • man, not me this time.  I'm done being pregnant because it's getting so difficult to run after my other toddler and bend down and clean and DO things.  I think I can honestly say I won't miss it one bit.
  • I loved being pregnant and miss it. Phoebe is fabulous but she was a lot quieter as an inside baby!
  • I've had a super easy pg and have felt pretty good for the most part.  Yes, I have some annoying lower back pain and my sinuses have been stuffed up for the last several months but other than that I've felt really good.  I love having an inside baby and I'm trying to treasure these last few weeks that I'm pg because she's so easy to take care of right now.  I don't have to worry about feeding, changing, or anything like that.

I'm anxious to meet her but I also know that this is such a short time.  No two pg are alike and I'm only having one more so I'm doing my best to savor every moment of this.

  • We tried for over 2 years to get pregnant so I don't know if I will be able to do it again (I am 32).

I have actually had a terrible pregnancy (you name it, I got it) and the only part that I really have enjoyed is feeling the kicks and squirms and watching my belly move. I especially love it when DH talks to my belly and the baby moves to where his mouth is!

This is what I will really miss! I have never heard of phantom kicks! That is pretty funny!

  • I agree! Though I am not actually tired of being pregnant yet. But I am loving this part of the pregnancy and don't want it to end!
