Latisse while Pregnant?

Has anyone used Latisse while pregant? I know its just a relabel of the glaucoma drops "Lumigan" and Ive used it for 2 years now, but I wasnt sure if it was safe during pregnancy.

Thanks :)

  • Totally do not know the answer to your question, but I must ask...

Did it change your eye color!?

  • Ok, found the answer.

To sum it up..I'd say NO.

    Pregnancy

    Pregnancy Category C

Teratogenic effects: In embryo/fetal developmental studies in pregnant mice and rats, abortion was observed at oral doses of bimatoprost which achieved at least 33 or 97 times, respectively, the maximum intended human exposure (based on blood AUC levels after topical ophthalmic administration to the cornea or conjunctival sac).

At doses at least 41 times the maximum intended human exposure, the gestation length was reduced in the dams, the incidence of dead fetuses, late resorptions, peri- and postnatal pup mortality was increased, and pup body weights were reduced.

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03% administration in pregnant women. Because animal reproductive studies are not always predictive of human response, Latisse? should be administered during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

  • I would definitely not be using that while pregnant...how far along are you?

  • I personally wouldn't risk taking a class C medication just to make my eyelashes longer and fuller during pregnancy.

I take a class C medication myself, but only as directed and when needed. I'd not be taking it if it were only for cosmetic purposes.

  • I would suggest NO. Prior to latisse there was a product called eyelash intervention by another company with the same ingrediants. It ended up being recalled by the FDA because of birth side effects. Both products have very similiar/ same ingrediants in them, but Latisse has not been on the market as long  so odds are that it might end up with this same warning label.

Have you ever considered eyelash extensions? Totally safe while pregnant AND you dont need to wear mascara any long with them either :)!
