Yep.  Our pedi said not to bother with it.  Tap water is fine.

  • The only time he had sterile water was to rinse his tubing in the NICU.  As soon as we got home, we used tap water to mix his neosure.

  • Ditto. A big waste of money! We just used tap water, which my Ped encouraged since it has minerals in it that babies need.
  • We were actually told not to use Nursery water. Supposedly bad for their gums and teeth. We use tap.

  • The previous posters are correct, nursery water is a waste.  However, if you have well water, you should consider using it.

  • Our NICU told us to boil our tap water.  We had city water, which is harmless, but we still boiled it.  In fact, she will be 9 months old this month and we are still boiling her water at our house and using a filter at my parent's house.

  • We used distilled water in the beginning; not Nursery Water brand because it is fluoridated and too much fluoride is bad--same reason I still don't use tap water. Even though we only do 2 formula bottles a day. We now use the large "drinking water" jugs (the ones that are larger than a gallon and have the little spigot spout). Hard to tell how much we used because they were constantly taking in more and more every day and every week.
