I have offically been on bedrest, due to having contractions as well as a opening in my cervix,so I am just trying to just relax, but I have to say, it is really hard. I am greatful for my mom and my husband being here with me,but next week, they will be back at work. I can only get up to shower or go to the restroom. I am so excited to get out to go to weekly OB visits! For the ladies on bedrest or just out on maternity leave, what are you doing to pass the time?
Re: Passing the time on Bedrest
A few ideas, some of them you would need a laptop or other transportable computer device:
- organizing digital photos
- make photobooks online (using mixbook or something else) using the digital photos you've just organized
- learn to knit or crochet
- read books from the library
- write thank you cards for Christmas gifts and/or shower gifts
- take an online class in a topic you're interested in
i had this problem as well! i was only on BR for 5 weeks but it was a looong 5 weeks.
it gets better after the first week. you get "used" to it i guess. i had lots of visitors, read a lot, bumped a LOT, caught up on all the good movies, caught up on sleep....yeah its boring =/
I am also 31 weeks and on my 3rd week of modified bed rest. I really relate to being excited about going to the doctor. Listening to the radio in the car was a real treat for me this week.
So far some things I have done to pass time are: checking out the high risk forum and posting on the daily check-in, planning our next vacation (Disney), planning future vacations (we will have to win the lottery to actually go on all of them), organizing photos and using mixbook, T.V., internet shopping (don't actually buy anything), movies, finding new recipies to try when I can cook again, and reading. I also have a 4 year old so in the evenings I play games, color and watch cartoons with him.
yeah I have been put on two types of meds, they help, I am just trying to hold him in as long as I can. I am stating to play the online games now. pretty fun. Thanks ladies
