Getting family on base

I know this is a while away but I like to plan ahead hehe My mom lives about 4 hours away and wants us to call her when I go into labor so she can drive up to us.  I'm not sure how the l&d is going to be so I don't want DH to leave my side at all.  I'll be delivering on base so my issue is getting my mom on the base.  Is there anyway to arrange to have my mom let on base without one of us present to meet her? 

My only other option is that we did hire a Douala and while it's not in her description of duties I could maybe ask her to meet my mom?  Not sure if she would do it though.

    My mom came and stayed at our house to watch the dogs (we lived off base), and then I had BFF (also a military wife) go and pick her up when I was ready for visitors.  If we hadn't been able to do that, my mom would have just had to go through the same "go to the visitor's center, get a pass, have your car searched at the gate, etc" like everybody else.  It was easier to have BFF just go and pick her up really quick.

    I don't know how tight your security is, but for us you just go through the visitor line at the main gate. You show your license, registration and insurance. Sometimes they ask where you're going (usually don't) and that's it.

    Where we are (a remote location) you have to either be in the car with a drive who has a valid military ID or you have to go get a visitors pass prior to being on base. If you get pulled over with out a Military ID or visitors pass you get taken in by base security. I would just go to the visitors center and ask.

    It all depends on where you are & how strict their security it. Go to pass & id and ask someone. (Or call)

    Dang that is strict... Here there are two parts of base.. One with the Hospital and WTB.. and then main post.  The hospital part any civi can get on but the hospital also serves the city.  The main post you just have to go to visitors center

    It's really dependent on the base. I know that Fort Bliss and Fort Sill will let her on with a temporary pass as long as she has a valid drivers license and a good reason. She should just have to go to the main gate and apply for a pass.
