Can anyone feel their uterus or bump yet?

I've managed to gain about 7 pounds so far in this pregnancy. I wasn't an overweight person to begin with (143 lbs, about 5'6"). I'm 11 weeks and 5 days and I don't really feel like I can feel my uterus yet. I don't think I have a bump yet (it all feels like flab to me, not hard), but I keep feeling right above my pelvic bone and I don't feel like I feel anything. My OB also said I had a tilted uterus, so could this be why? Can anyone feel their bump yet at almost 12 weeks?

  • I also have a tipped uterus. I think it will take longer for us to show. I am at 13 weeks and still don't feel or see anything.

  • Could definitely have something to do with your tilted uterus since the top tilts towards the back instead of the front where it would stick out. I have the same. The bottom is pressing right up against my bladder and having me run to the washroom every half hour!

  • Yesterday I was poking around trying to see if I could feel it and sure enough it was there!  I know I couldn't feel it the week before so somewhere in between then and now it popped out lol

  • I was able to feel it beginning last week, but I've got two in there so maybe it's easier?

  • I am almost 12 weeks and have been able to feel mine for a while, above my pubic bone. But the tilted uterus might have a lot to do with it.

  • I've been able to feel mine since about week 10. Dh can also feel it. It's definitely moving upward because I found it about an inch above my pubic bone and it's now about halfway to my belly button. That said, I'm short waisted, so there isn't anywhere to go but up.
    Mommy to N (3), J (2), and C (10 months). LO4 is due in mid-September.
  • I have been able to feel mine for a couple weeks now, but, I am having twins. I have a nice amount of belly fat over it but I can feel the hard stomach underneath.

  • Ok. First timer question...Does it feel hard? I think I feel something but I'm not sure if that is it. I didn't really feel around before I was pregnant so I'm not sure what will feel different.

  • I started to feel mine right at 12 weeks. Now at 13 it's unmistakable. Even my OB pointed out where it is, which is exactly where I'd been feeling it. I'm tall and have a long torso, so I suspect it will be a while before it moves a lot higher, but in the meantime it's as hard as a rock and about 1-2 inches above my pelvic bone.

Mine is for sure hard. It's obvious because it's nothing that I have ever had before.

  • Mine is starting to show a little but it is not hard. It feels different but I wouldn't say it feels hard.

  • Thanks! I feel something but it isn't really hard. (I asked because I though I had heard that is what it would feel like.) Its not really squishy (like fat) either. Maybe it will be more noticeable in the coming weeks.

Same here. And I seriously have a little belly now, at 13 weeks and change. I bought maternity jeans today, and it was like angels singing.

  • I had a tilted uterus as well, however when pregant your baby corrects this for you. At my 6 week ultrasound it showed that my uterus was in normal position..whatever normal is :)

Yes, but it corrects at different times. At my ultrasound 2 days ago, mine was still really low and cupped back.

  • Hi, I have been able to feel mine for about 2-3 weeks now.. I am only 4'10" so my midsection is really not very long... Today I actually noticed that when I lay on my stomach i can feel it.. I think w/ #1 it took a few more weeks to feel it...

  • Mine starts to feel hard later in the day or if I drink a lot of water. Yesterday it felt hard and I looked HUGE! This morning nothing! Its kind of strange!
  • Eek!  I just noticed I have a little bump last night.  I have my normal belly fat around my belly button, but below that, just above my pubic area, there was a little area protuding that I never had before, it is fairly firm (but I wouldn't say hard).  It's not huge and no one else would probably notice it.  I noticed it when I was changing into PJs and I went downstairs to show H. He said he saw it, but he might have just been trying to appease me.
