Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Motorola Video Monitor Question...

Some moms said that the battery life isn't so great. Does it come with an extra charger to plug in the portable monitor?

For instance, the video monitor is plugged in the wall charger in the baby's room. Is there a separate/extra charger for the handheld monitor?

So can I bring it in my room, have it plugged in at night and not worry about the battery dying/not being able to monitor all night?

Re: Motorola Video Monitor Question...

  • We have this monitor and the camera stays plugged in the nursery and the monitor is plugged in our room.  We sometimes carry it out into the living room when we're watching TV at night and it will last a couple of hours.

    I love it!

  • I also have this monitor and I really like it.  We leave the charger plugged in on my nightstand and we'll take it off for a couple hours at night.  If you keep the video on all the time it does deplete the battery in a couple hours.  However, the screen shuts off after 5 minutes or so.  We let it click off and every once in a while we turn it back on to check on her.  Also, there is the lights at the top that will light up when there is noise.

Overall, I am super happy with the monitor.  Some of the reviews complain about the inaccuracy of the temperature and I have found it to be accurate.

  • OK, great thanks for clarifying everyone!

As my PP suggest, I put my LO in her crib for the first time last night, and to my surprise, the First Years Monitor we got died within a few hours... AND it only came with the 1 AC Plug that hooks into the the device in the nursery.. making it impossible to use.

After everyone's advice, and because my DD is 5 months... I just purchased the Motorola Video Monitor -- (it was between this one and the Summer Infant, which was over $100 more).

    Thanks for all your help!
