PSA: RSV

Hey - many of you may be aware of RSV, but I work at a local pediatric hospital and just wanted to share that RSV has been much worse this year than prior years.  According to our clinical teams, the babies are also much sicker.  In newborns, RSV can lead to hospital admissions and sometimes much worse.  I'd suggest everyone have this on their list to talk to their pediatritirian about prevention since our babies were or will be born in the peak of the RSV season.  Typically, early babies are at higher risk.  As for me, we will limit visitors and will wait until March or April before we have the baby out in public places.  Info about RSV https://www.cdc.gov/rsv/

On a bright note, flu season is very light this year.  Here's a neat map to show where it is prevalent.  https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/usmap.htm
