So I turned 39 weeks yesterday. It was the third day of cramps. After cramps all morning i got up at 9:20am and started regular contractions. I had my bloody show. The contractions were 5 min apart when we left home (30 min from the hospital). Then 3 min apart halfway there, 2 min apart at the edge of the town the hospital is in, and 1 min apart a block from the hospital. I felt two big drops on the way. I had thought they were gonna go random or that I had a few hours because my water didn't break. We got to the hospital at 11am and when we got to the e.r. door I had a major contraction and my water started leaking. I was taken upstairs in a wheelchair to an exam room. They gave me my gown and let me go to the bathroom to pee. Turned out I couldn't pee but was bleeding. I started having some pressure but not like with my previous delivery. Then I could barely get my gown on and get to the door. When I started screaming in pain the nurse and my husband came in after me and rushed me to the bed. Another nurse said she was gonna check me with one finger, checked for a second, and started yelling to get the doc because the babys head was a knuckle from out. They drove the stretcher like a race car down the hall to the delivery room. They told me to get over on the bed bvut I couldn't scoot while I was uncontrollably pushing. I got scooted over and saw a man standing there. I said I don't want any men in the room except my husband and the nurse said too bad if he's not here we'll have to catch. So I let him be the doc. They told me to push and that the heart rate was decelerating and even tho I wanted to try it felt like I couldn't. Then after two pushes they said the head was out and to stop. Then they said to push one more time I didn't think I could. They said I pushed once more (that I didn't control) and he was out. I delivered at 11:18a.m. after a max of 5 min pushing and less than 2 hours active labor. They had yelled for the closest doc to the door ( not my doc who's office was 5 min away and she didn't make it). The nurse still had her coat on and they were all in shock that after approx 5 min of pushing he was here. My doc came in immediately after to stitch me up. They said it wasn't even 2nd degree and would take 2-3 stitches. In the end it took more. My baby boy was perfectly healthy at 6lbs 15oz. 19 1/2 in. All the docs and nurses as well as my husband said they couldn't believe how fast it was and all stood there with shocked looks. We didn't have time to think about getting prints in the baby book or cord cutting photos. We had to call family a few minutes later, who were waiting to hear how dialated I was and if it was time to come up yet. It was by far a better labor experience than my first. We came home today and are overjoyed with our family of four.

This sounds like how I was born. (My mom was in the hospital for less than 20 mins before I was born and the nurse delivered me.)
But congrats on your healthy baby boy!!
