I need to vent about my MIL for a sec.

I seriously want to scream at that woman sometimes.  So my MIL has told me twice that she has this Southwest airline ticket she needs to use.  She got it free w/ her Southwest card.  So tonight she calls and is telling me how she doesn't think BIL is going to be able to use it and she could use it to fly to San Diego but it seems like a waste to do that.  Then she asks if my mom would want it to fly back and visit family but she would have to give MIL some compensation for it.  Ok what ever I understand wanting to get something for it.  The thing that just ERKS me is she not once asked if we wanted or needed the ticket.  I have no idea if she has asked DH but I don't think she did because he would have told me.  I'm just shaking my head at this woman because she would offer it to my mom but not to us.  We would give her some money for it too. GAH!  I don't know if she wants me to come out and ask about it because normally she isn't that type of person.  She is usually pretty blunt about things and comes right out and asks you.

I think I'm going to talk to DH about it then call her up and ask her about it.  My BFF and I were thinking of going to Vegas in Feb to see George Strait so maybe I can w/ this ticket.

  • MILs just suck don't they?  We need to have about 50 cocktails so I can tell you about my Christmas!  Holler!

Just ask her, take the ticket- go to VEGAS!  Awesome!!

  • Maybe she felt weird asking you if you wanted to "buy" the ticket so went about it in a round about way?  I agree that it seems like you guys would be the first to be asked and honestly if they are going to expire and she didn't do anything (besides sign up for the card) to earn them it doesn't really seem like anyone should have to pay her for them.  We have family pay us for FF miles quite often but they are ones we've earned through flying and it's more of a situation where we aren't using them (been too hard to travel with two littles) and my dad always forget until the last minute to buy a ticket or my step-mom had to travel a few times last minute because her mother was dying, situations where it was way cheaper for us to sell them some miles than buy last minute tickets.  If we had stuff to get rid of though I would just offer it up and be happy it didn't go to waste.

Have tons of fun at George Strait!  My mom and I saw him years ago in Reno and I loved it.
