Still confused-carrier cover and safe?

I am sorry if this is always asked, but.....I am still confused re which winter cover is considered safe for infant car seats? I don't want to interfere with the safety of my car seat, but would like to purchase a cover for my son. Could someone please help clarify this for me? Thank you.

The ones that go under the seatbelt- i.e. the BundleMe ?

Look for ones that go over the whole carseat- like a shower cap.?

The ones that go over the seat (shower-cap style) are fine.

The ones that go in-between the baby and the car seat are not.

Anything that goes between the baby and the seat is considered unsafe. The covers that are elasticky and go around the outside are safe.

You want the one that sort of looks like a shower cap that you simply pull over top the bucket. There is usually a zipper that opens to allow you to put DC in without taking it off. I have the gray one from babies r us and love it!

I've read that the ones that only cover the top of the seat are safe -- the ones that go under the baby (between the baby and the seat), like the Bundle Me, are thought to be unsafe. That being said, many people swear by the Bundle Me. We ordered one by Kiddopotamus that only covers the top and has a cutout for the baby's face.
