I got mine at a hospital. i think it was in alexandria? details are fuzzy. however, they had large sizes (went up to H or I or something) and because so few ppl came in for that size, the woman gave me a deep discount to get rid of a few more extremely dusty bra packets.
Depending on your size, I know it'd be nice to try on in store, but I had the best luck shopping online. I'm a 34G, and I just bought a bunch on Amazon, and returned the ones that didn't work. My favorite was this one, and I'd wear it every day if I could - I really should buy a second one:
I too am an errr larger chest, and there's a place in Vienna off of 123 that had larger size nursing bras. I forgot their name. The Fair Oaks Lactation center had a lot of selection tho their hours were kinda odd. I also found that I loved loved loved the nursing tanks from glamourmom.com!!! Love love love them! I also bought a TON of bras from one of the bra websites, tried them on at home and then returned 99% of them. Gotta love the free shipping.
I went to Nordstroms and they had a limited but good selection in my uber busty size. I bought a few there and then bought more of the same online for my second baby. I really love Anita and Elle McPherson. I have 4 of these Anita ones and wear them every day.
I am well endowed (34F) and I love the Bravado bras. I'm pretty sure the lactation centers at the INOVA hospitals carry them (but I ordered mine online).
My size transcends what Nordstrom or Fair Oaks Hospital Lactation Botique carries, so it is Trousseau with free custom tailoring for me. If you are a bit more mainstream in size, the other two options I mentioned might worth for you.
P.S. I am pretty sure that Dell's in Fairfax went out of business.
wow! i hadnt realized how many NoVA & DC area multiple moms there are on here! this is great -i just moved to the area. thx also for the suggestions. i could use a good fitting b/c my target maternity bras are terrible. i'm pretty sure i have the wrong cup size
ETA: oops, duh! i didnt realize i was on the dc babies site!!!
