Hypothetical ?

Hypothetically speaking, if you were pg, it was a Friday afternoon when you started feeling slightly ill after your daughter just went through three days in a row of some virus which caused 105 temps and your OB was closed for the weekend already....what temp would you let your body get to before you freak out and call the emergency line?

Not that this pertains to me, because really, I'm fine....it's probably just me being tired and stuff. And my hands are on fire because I'm one smokin' hot mama. Really.

ETA: the nurse said 101 is the key temp. But thank goodness I was not getting her illness, I think it was just cedar fever + mental fear + exhaustion. Whew

Re: Hypothetical ?

  • Well, I'm pretty cautious about fever when pregnant, so I'd call if I got over 101, if only to talk to them about how they wanted me to treat it and what temps are cause for alarm, etc.

Hypothetically speaking, hope you feel better!!

  • Do they have a nurses line you could call into to ask? Or an on call nurse?
  • My OB says to call if your fever gets over 101.4.  Definitely take it easy and call them if it gets too high!

  • Hypothetically, CRAP.  Sad

I'd call the nurse line and let them know what DD has had, and ask what you need to be concerned about/watchful of.  Then I'd go hole up in a guest bedroom and leave the DD-caretaking to the DH.  Hypothetically.
