IUI Question

So it has been nearly a year since doing my first IUI. We will be trying IUI #2 in February and I had some questions. With our first IUI I had one mature follicle. Wondering how many of you had success with having only one and what your thoughts are about only pursuing IUI for 2 or more mature follicles. I am just debating if it would make sense to go through with it if there was only one again...

Thoughts?

i got pg on my first cycle of clomid/IUI with DS1 - with only one mature follie.

when TTC#2 i did 2 cycles and got my twins (with 2 mature follies). My first cycle that time didn't have any mature follies.... i was sick and it was sort of a bust but they still went through with the IUI just in case one caught up.

i'd go through with it with one follie- since you went through taking meds... i wouldn't want to waste a cycle - i'm not sure if you are taking clomid? or other... but it's not good to do too many cycles of it- so i wouldn't want to waste one i took meds for.

Yes-I had (1) 30 mm follicle that resulted in DS. We also had MFI (DH has low morph). Good luck. !

and to add- if only one cycle is your ART history - i'd be HAPPY to have one follie...

I wasn't going to go through with IUI if we had 3 or more.... i was not OK with HOM's... but was OK with twins, thankfully... b/c we had the 2 follies and got 2 babies.

I had a mfi diagnosis. We both took clomid and did an iui. The first cycle I had 2 follicles and the count, which was the problem, was 140 million. I was sure it was going to work and it didn't. Next cycle we did the same protocol, 2 follicles, and we got DS. The sperm count was actually lower the 2nd cycle. I was sure it didn't work and was gearing up to add injectables the next cycle. Because we were mfi I would be willing to go through an iui with up to 3 follicles, we had been trying for 2 yrs on our own. If there is 1 follicle I would still go through with an iui. You can get pregnant with one follicle so there is a chance you can still be successful. Honestly after having one I don't know how MOMs do it. I am very happy to have a singleton. While going through treatments I was hoping for twins but I'm glad only 1 took. I hope u have success soon! Sorry it's 1 paragraph I'm on my phone.

I did Femara for our 2 IUIs, and only had one mature follie each time. IUI#2 was successful for us.

Thanks for everyone's input. I just wasn't sure if it would be worth it with only one, but it sounds like many of you had success. I'll be taking Clomid and know we can only use it for so many cycles, but just wasn't sure. I produced more than one follicle last time, but only one was mature (don't remember the size).
