So I normally work full time in a monday to friday boring life job that pays all the bills and is of course supporting my family. but on the side I like to moonlight as an actress, with my specialty being a character named Jewel the Water Faerie.
I had been invited to work a small fairy festival in may *when I should be good and huge* and wasn't sure that they would want me to come to work since I will no longer look the ideal skinny fairy part.
Well I got the email back today....
I'm in and they still want to make me the center of the festival. I am totally crazy, as this is an outdoor event in Minnesota in early may, but at the same time the organizers said whatever they can do to make it safe, comfortable, and beautiful they will do for me. I find this awesome.
I will get only a small payment, *I get to sell things* but I get to enjoy the smiles on the kids faces.... it makes today a great day. *while I sit here twiddling my thumbs at my real work desk*
Re: I didn't think I would get that contract!
I just had this vision of some beautiful pregnant lady all decked out in glittery makeup and with glittery swirls all over a bare belly, wings, long hair...you know, the works
But I have no idea what the tone of that festival is like or if that would be feasible. If not, it might be fun for a maternity shoot. Either way, sounds like fun!
Also, Minnesota in early May=still chilly?
Thanks for the comments. I work hard on that costume, too bad I have to completely redo most of it since I can corset the baby in at this point, let alone in may.
And I am totally going to have to get someone to do a shoot of that, the festival is more for kids, so I will do some sort of shirt, but otherwise I bet a maternity shoot in my fairy outfit would be a blast *and unique* Probably won't post it for my fairy, but it sure would be fun to have!
Oh and Minnesota in may = freeze your butt off because it feels cold, burn to death in the sun because you are cold and didn't realize you were burning. There could also be snow, or it could be 90... we aren't sure. Today it is 41 degrees, I believe last year around this time it was -10....
This is for sure the most random thread of the day.
Congratulations!
Well that just sounds wretched. It's those kinds of stories that make me really appreciate Texas and its incredibly short (though still too long for my taste) winters.
PLEASE do a fairy maternity shoot, just so I can live vicariously through you
. The thought of that makes me so, so happy. However, and I'm sure this goes without saying, make sure you have a good photographer because I could also see that going a terrible way.
But HAVE FUN with that! I'm really excited for you!
