Since HS asked, I'll give you an update. I feel like I'm constantly just coming here with "woe is me" stuff. I don't mean to be Debbie Downer. Really.
Dad has less than a month. He's declined very, very quickly. The last dose of chemo pretty much did him in. He doesn't seem to be in much pain right now. Mom is staying on top of it so that's good. An x-ray last weekend showed that the chemo did nothing for him except make him worse. The cancer continued to grow while he was taking it.
So it's very sad. We're planning the funeral and Hospice has come in to help Mom, as well as my aunts are taking shifts so she's not alone. My brothers and I go over in the evenings during the week and spend most of our time there on the weekends. He still recognizes us and can tell us he loves us, but he's incredibly weak and fragile.
So that's the latest. Sad times here, but we're strong and we're making it through. I cry my way to and from work each day since I'm by myself and can think in my alone time. It's therapeutic. :-)
Re: Sorry to be a PW: Update on Dad.
