Baby shower drama (already)
So I realize how high-schoolish and lame this is going to sound, but I've got two best friends who are both THRILLED with my pregancy and eager to start planning a baby shower for me.
This is great... except that they hate each other. One is jealous of my friendship with the other, and the other feels completely awkward around the other and refuses to be in the same room with her unless they have to. (One is single and the other is a newlywed so neither have been mommies yet).
Getting them to work together is going to be nearly impossible. I don't want to have multiple showers (because it will be awkward to invite friends and family to one vs. the other). HOW do I go about this? Pick one and tell the other sorry? Eliminate both of them and have someone else plan? Have two showers? The thing is, they both have their hearts set on planning for me. Advice would be appreciated.

Oh, I was almost in this situation. Luckily, one girl I am childhood friends with, and the other has only been close in the past couple years. I was able to just have the long time friend plan it, then tell the other one that if she wants to help, she is welcome to do so.
Try to find something like that, if you can, to separate them. If you don't talk to one of them that often, or anything that would put one in a better position to perform the task.
Your other option, if you don't want to face the 2 shower dilemma, would be to have a third person plan it, for example your mother. Tell both of them that your mom is planning the shower, give them contact info, and tell them they are welcome to help. It doesn't matter how determined they are, mom (or any family member) trumps them in the shower dept.
Very simple. You tell them that you can't pick between the two of them and you don't want two showers so they have to do the shower together or someone in your family will host it.

No, if you really don't want two showers... just be honest with them and tell them both that you don't really want two showers and could they work together to do one.
