I had been putting rice in ds's bottle from about 4 months till about a month ago. He started taking the formula really well and I was able to stop putting rice cereal in the bottle without him spewing everywhere. About a week ago I got some WCM and mixed in about an ounce to a six ounce bottle and he spit up. I've tried it a couple more times and he always spits it up. I can put it in his oatmeal and he eats it just fine. He also had been eating the Gerber yogurt and done fine. A girl I work with took her DS to her 12 month check up and the pedi suggested to try lactose free milk. I bought some tonight and put two ounces in his six ounce bottle and he proceeded to puke all over me. I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. His 12 month check up is on the 16th so I will also ask the pedi. Sorry this was longer than I expected.
Re: Desperate XP from 9-12
Stop WCM until you talk to your pedi, and then follow his or her advice from there.
No. This sounds like more of a regurge issue to me than a dairy problem. I'm not your pedi however. I would do what PP said and stop putting it in his bottle, then talk to your pedi. If he tolerates yogurt, cheese and dairy foods fine without vomiting, tummy ache or diarrhea then I'd feel comfortable continuing with those foods.
