I use to keep it at original post date until I realized people were going way back sometimes and commenting on posts. I recently changed it, although it's annoying at work because everytime I close my screen I have to re-login and re-sort it. (I know it's my own fault because I have my settings set to erase history when I close my screen, but I am not changing that, haha)
Haha. I was just wondering this and even considered posting this myself. lol
I just changed mine from "original post date" to "last post" yesterday. It is so much better with the last post first! I feel so much more caught up on things--especially when there is a thread I'm watching.
I have it set on last post first. I used to have it on original post date, because I didn't realize you could change it, but it's SO much better when it's set to last post first especially on our board since it's so active!

This is mainly why I was posting it. I was wondering if some people didn't know that you could do it. I know a lot of people said they were missing out on posts or missing the BOTD posts because they don't go to the second page. This way the more popular posts show up first.
I can never decide. I feel like I miss new stuff if I'm not on for a little bit with it by reply date. but then I do miss new replies to long posts with it on original date.
I also go back and forth on newest reply on top vs bottom. For long posts like FFFC I always switch it to last reply on the top.
Ok now I want to switch mine to last post but I tried to switch at the bottom of the page and when I logged back in, it was back to original. Help!
There is a choice for "Apply (Temporarily)" or just "Apply." If you want it to be like that every time you log in, you have to click the one that is just "Apply."

I clicked "apply". Crap. I will try again!
Ok, I tried it again. I opened BUMP in a new window. Seems to be working. Yay!
At the bottom of the June 2011 home screen, there is a box called viewing preferences. Next to sort, change it to "last post date". The default it "original post date."
I keep mine "original post date." I've changed it, but I always go back. I'm different I guess
