January 2012 Moms

Better than nothing i suppose..

So, yesterday i had another internal and there was progress from the week before which is encouraging to say the least. Induction (gestational diabetes related) got scheduled for the 24th, which will put me at 39 + 4. As much as i'd like to avoid the Pitocin again i'm glad to have an end date! Strangely enough i was sick on wednesday (vomiting, the lot) and my dr thought that was a good sign!

But has anyone had their face break out? my normally clear skin has just turned upside down, it wasn't even this bad in high school! Any thoughts on that?!

Re: Better than nothing i suppose..

  • My best friend's face broke out like crazy. I think it is from the hormones, maybe this surge of hormones means progress? Let's just say that's it :)

  • I am 37+1, and have noticed my hormones changing again. At the beginning of my pregnancy my hair got oily, as did the rest of my skin. I broke out something awful!! It cleared up by the 2nd trimester and has been great up until about a week ago when I started getting oily again.... *sigh*

  • My skin is a mess.  I've been using Proactive twice a day, but it doesn't seem to help.  Oh well I suppose...hopefully it will get better after this little guy is here!

Congrats on getting a day set!  I have GD too and now on bed rest for hypertension.  I'm nervous about the petocin too.

    This is me exactly!

I blame shifting hormones + stress of dealing with having my in-laws stay with us over the holidays.  It's finally starting to clear up again.

  • Shifting hormones sounds like a good reason i suppose, and i'm totally gonna take that as things progressing! Hopefully the NST's will show some more encouraging things today, (yay only 4 more of those!)
