Turning 38, need to sustain hope for this cycle

I turned 38 today, blah. I had a second monitoring u/s & b/w today and my 2 follies on the right did not grow from Tuesday's appt, but 2 on the left did grow from below 9 to 12-13. Have to go back on Sat for more monitoring. If we're unsuccessful this month I think this is going to be the last cycle we TTC with the RE and then move on to adoption. I feel like I'm hemorrhaging money (already at $1,300 OOP this month alone and we're only doing TI, not IUI). So frustrating that it comes down to money for treatment or money for adoption. Also, with the amount of time adoption can take, I feel like we'd better get started on that sooner than later.

    I just turned 38 last month!  Sucks, doesn't it?  ;-)

    IVF # 1(July 2012) = BFN
    IVF # 2 (November 2012) = BFP (MIssed MC D&C @ 8w3d on 1/10/13)
    IVF # 3 (June 2013) = BFN 
    IVF # 4 (September 2013) = BFP Fraternal twin boys! (Loss at 21w6d due to IC on 1/26/14...devastated.)
    3/21/14--TAC (transabdominal cerclage) w/Dr. Davis in NJ
    IVF # 5 (May 2014) = BFN
    FET (August 2014) = BFN

    Oh I totally get the not so thrilled about your birthday feeling..I am holding desperately on to age 39 for 8 more weeks.  :)  But Happy Birthday anyway!  I hope you get good news this month!

    I had my DS at Forty. Conceived at 39, after 2 losses. 

    What about a shared risk IVF program. Most have a cutoff age of 40 so you still have time if that is a fit for your family. Best of luck with whatever you decide!

    I'm with Llama - except I think it's about 6 more weeks for me until the big 40!  ;-) 

    Sometimes the clock's ticking is deafening.  Hmm

    Thanks for the b-day wishes ladies. I just saw a photo of myself from Jan 09, just before we started TTC and I looked so much more healthy than I do three years later. It just reinforces that I don't feel well when on a treatment cycle and it shows. If this cycle is successful, then hallelujah and I will be so happy. The ticking clock definitely gets so much louder each year! But I think I'm okay with stopping tx if this cycle doesn't work. I feel like I need to get back to that healthy spot from 3 years ago and who knows, if I get back to my healthy spot maybe I'll get a surprise natural BFP before I'm 40. I won't quit ttc, but I think I need to quit fertility treatments after this cycle.

    Dx: DOR and MFI

    DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
    Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

    IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
    IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)
    DE IVF #1 (shared cycle - June 2012): c/p (6R, 6F w/ICSI, 3dt 1 8-cell grade A- and 1 7-cell grade A-; no frosties)
    DE IVF #2 (shared cycle with new donor - Nov/Dec/ 2012): - BFP!!!!! 12/14/12. U/S on 12/27 shows twins!!!!!

    IVF #1: 9/13/12. ER: 9/25. 3R, 2M, 1F. ET: 9/28 (1-6B). Beta: moved from 10/11 to 10/10: BFN.
    IVF #2: 11/12 cycle postponed due to Sandy and then cancelled due to elevated E2.
    IVF #2.1 cancelled due to cyst.
    IVF #2.2: 2/2/13. Converted to IUI. BFN
    IVF #3.0: 3/2014. BCP & Microdose Lupron.  Cycle cancelled due to poor response.
