Im in the home stretch here at 39wks, and my belly is so flipping itchy! I moisturize daily and do my belly a few extra times! My arms, legs, my sides....can I take anything for it? Or do I just moan and groan?
not much helps but I found that tucking in my cotton tank tops that I wear under my long sleeve shirts helps. I tuck the tank top into my maternity pants ( I wear full panel ones) I think it helps bc the full panels arent really breathable fabric. I also put Aveeno medicated lotion all over the belly in the morning and palmers tummy butter at night. the itching seems to be less crazy by using all this.
It could just be winter skin. I realized the reason my stretch marks were itching so bad was because I must be allergic to Palmers. I stopped using it and went back to my gold bond (yes I am an old lady) and they stopped itching. Have you changed moisturizer lately?
I stopped using lotion and switched to vitamin e oil, and it really does wonders for my skin. I get the Walgreens brand skin oil, it's supposed to be the generic Bio-Oil, and isn't scented.
It keeps the moisture in all day, altho you do have to be careful to not spill it on your clothes because it will stain like a grease stain. I put the most on my belly, and any excess probably gets on the tummy panel of my jeans but I never notice any staining on that.
Have you tried using a super-moisturizing body wash too? Olay makes good stuff, and anything with shea or even oatmeal can help calm your itchy skin.
GL on finding relief!
