My 2 year old has been running a fever since Wednesday at about 3pm. Yesterday he acted very fussy he wouldn't play much and he didn't eat hardly anything. The fever hasn't been high it's only been aroun 100 or 101 but it hasnt broken at all. He has coughed a few times but it's hardly worth mentioning because it has only been a few times. I'm not sure what's going on with him. Should I take him to the dr? I ask bc his fever is so low and he doesn't really have any symptoms but yesterday he obviously didnt feel well and doesn't seem better today. Thanks
Re: Opinion-- should I take him to the dr??
I wouldn't yet. Are you giving him tylenol? He doesn't have any other symptoms?
The only thing they would check would be his ears (do they seem to hurt?) or his throat (does he seem bothered by any pain there?).
Does your pedi have Saturday office hours or sick call?
Sore throat, fever, and no cold symptoms could be strep.
I'd take him just to be sure. You don't want him sick through the weekend without knowing what it is.
