  1. How old is he? If he's more interested in exploring/playing, then he may not be ready to PT. 

  2. Do you tell him to stop playing with himself so that he can pee?

  3. If you truly think he's ready to PT, then tell him to stop playing with himself (you can do this without making a big deal) and dont let him off the potty until he's pee'd.

  You say you've been PTing for 2 months now. Has he had any success? Is this a new thing? Or has this been a problem the whole time? (in which case it doesn't sound like he's ready and I'd give it a break for now).

  What if you let him be naked for a while thus giving him the chance to play with himself for a while? Then when he sits down on the potty you can ask him to stop for just a second to let the pee come out. I don't agree with keeping him on the potty till he pees, but only because I know my son would find that tramatic and see it as a power struggle. Good luck.

  This is how my youngest was/is, which is why I put off potty training. All he wanted to do was play with his penis. He has had a fascination with it since around 18 months old, just recently (after a lot of stern no's - but he also had his hands down his pants every second) he sits on the potty without touching it. Too bad that is all he does on the potty, just sits ther all the time and won't go.

  I think trying to get a little boy to leave his penis alone is a losing battle. It is his after all...I agree with PP that maybe a little more 'naked time' might help him get over the fascination, I'd just keep trying, and not say anything- just sitting on the potty is a step in the right direction, I'd praise his efforts and ignore his distraction.   Thanks everyone. We were having some success with the potty training until he became aware of it.  After that its been all down hill.  It has gotten to the point where he does not want to get off the potty because he is so intent on playing with himself lol.  He wears underwear so maybe its a good idea to let him go around naked so he can get used to having that body part.  I also don't want to scar him about playing with it because it is natural for boys/men.
