Good every day shoes, I buy from Stride Rite. Other stores also sell SR - some independnt shoe stores, Nordstrom, I know JCPenny & Kohls have the lower priced SR ones.
Dress up shoes, I buy @ Target, Payless, Sears, etc. wherever I see them. I got DD some cheapo dressy shoes for Xmas and she's worn them almost every day since Christmas - Mommy Fail!
Most of her shoes are from Famous Footwear. She always has a pair of Nike sandals in the summer, this winter she had Converse tennies and she just received her first pair of Stride Rites as a gift (though to be honest I don't love them). I've bought several dress shoes for her from Marshalls - varying brands, but I like them to have flexible soles.

We buy Stride Rite as well. I buy ours at a local mom and pop shoe store that has been in business fo a long time. Our nearest Stride Rite store is an hour away. I pay a little more buying them there but the service makes up for it. Did you try searvhingg the stide rite website for a retailer. For dressy shoes we get a lot of hand-me-downs or I buy them at Payless or wherever. She usually only wears them once or twice before outgrowing them.
We always buy from Stride Rite for our main shoes and for dressy or occasional shoes we buy from target, old navy, gap. I've heard it's so important to have "good" shoes for their early foot development but I don't think it hurts to wear "other" shoes occasionally.
Uh, the Stride Rite outlet. I'd probably check Nordstrom rack as Nordstrom's sells SR and so do most other major dept stores. I'd probably try to time it for sale time. Talk to the sales people and they will likely give you a heads up on impending shoe sales.
Re: Where do you buy your DC's shoes?
