Please help me stop chart stalking FF and second guessing our timing.
We are moving in a little more than a week and one big thing we are going to get is a new fridge (yes, a sign of getting older is how excited I get with a new fridge). Anyway, I had no idea there were so many sizes. We've narrowed it down to French doors with a freezer drawer and an external ice dispenser. Anything you love about your fridge or would change? I love to cook, so I am looking for more storage but at what point does the extra space just become wasted?
Thanks in advance!
Re: NTTCR - Refrigerators - help distract me
I love to cook too. I wish that I had more space in my refrigerator but I don't have the room in my current kitchen. One thing that I do love about my refrigerator is that it is counter depth. It looks much neater than having one that sticks out 4 inches from your cabinet. When we move, I am really hoping that I can get one in the new house.
There is nothing old about being excited about a refrigerator. If there is then I am ancient.
I got excited last month about our new dishwasher....
I know...it IS funny the things we get excited about as we get older. I about wet myself when my new range was installed!
One thing to consider is the location of the freezer. My cousins have one with the freezer draw on the bottom and the fridge french doors up top. My goddaughter (who will be three in a few weeks) is OBSESSED with the freezer draw...it's perfect for her height and she can easily open it by herself. So, it has been creating some problems with her parents because obviously they don't want her accessing popsicles, etc whenever she feels like it. (parenting goes a long way, I know, but just something to consider).
Hope your move goes well and enjoy your new pad!!

We had a GE Profile French Door, Stainless steel with double freezer on the bottom (Ice / Water in the door as well). To be honest, I hated it. I really liked the French Doors on top, but the ice/water took up a lot of space on the door inside. Also, I found digging around in the freezer (located on the bottom) was tough, and it was really hard to make a frozen pizza box fit. Also, with the freezer on the bottom, if anything falls behind the bottom basket (in ours) it was really, really hard to get it out, clean, etc.
We paid a LOT of money for that fridge (almost 3K), and I didn't think it was worth the money. My husband also hated the fact that it was sooooo heavy. We had hard wood floors in the kitchen, and you could not pull the fridge out to clean behind..it would dent the floor / scratch. If we needed the fridge moved at all, we had to hire special movers.
