Ugh -- just got a positive OPK, which is normally a good thing, but...it is a couple days earlier than expected and it is going to throw my schedule off for the next 3 months. When I came home in December, I was hoping to be able to do an IUI in January, which we won't happen since my doctor is waiting for my husband to see a urologist. February is sort of out -- my husband will be traveling and closer to me in Philly, so we can try naturally, but no IUI (my doctor is in Austin). And if I go back to my regular ovulation patterns, I will miss the chance for an IUI during my spring break in March by a few days.
I am so ready to be in the same city as DH and not have to stress over timing everything just right.
Re: the best laid scheduling plans
Just an idea: Dr. C.heck at Cooper Institute is in Marlton, NJ= only about 20 mins outside of Philly. His office works remotely all the time- maybe they could do the IUI for you in Feb?
PS: even if not covered by ins, C.heck's office has really really low prices.

Excellent idea, McIrish. I'll definitely look into it! It might be tough since "close to Philly" means my husband will actually be in DC, but we can always change our preferred fertility aid from American Airlines (PHL to AUS) to Amtrak (DC to Philly).
Kelly, I LOVE Austin -- lived here for about 8 years. My husband has been here for 2 years, and I am moving back in May!
I hope you & DH can be in the same city soon!
TTC since 10/2010
IUIs # 1-5 = BFFN
IVF # 1(July 2012) = BFN
IVF # 2 (November 2012) = BFP (MIssed MC D&C @ 8w3d on 1/10/13)
Ugh. That is frustrating! Maybe you can ask your Austin dr what they recommend? McIrish's idea is a good one.
Hooray for moving back to Austin. I really love it here.
If you are going to be in DC then you may want to take McIrish's idea and see if you can use Shady Grove Fertility. They say that they treat people that live all over the world. Once when I was there, there was a couple from NJ that was getting treatment at SG. I can't immagine that they would drive to DC for every monitoring appointment.
